we are overseas now but would like to buy a 20 years term life insurance policy from US......is it possible?
We will be staying here (Taiwan) for more than 5 years and the insurance there is terrible and so expensive.
I'm wondering if we are here and something happens to us - can we get the benefits from insurance co. ??

To put it bluntly, if you die, it's not YOUR problem. So to speak.

Likely you cannot buy a life insurance in the US while you are living out of the country. I don't know of any US companies that will do that.

to buy the insurance u need to be in the US.
all policies ask the question if you plan on living outside the US for more than 6 months. You could lie, but if you die they would just deny the claim.

To buy insurance in the US you have to be a resident of the country. If you are residing overseas, no US company will insure you at US rates.

I have even had US policies issued on foreign citizens, but it needs to be applied for and delivered in the US. There is no legal way around this.
