i am looking to buy a truck and i found this sweet lifted truck with 38 inch tires and i saw it has engine modifications its a 5.2l v-8, with electric fuel injection, holley throttle body spacer, k&n air filter, headers, dual flowmaster mufflers with turndown pipes, superchips programmer, and msg ignition and wires

i really dont know much about any of that but really like this truck and am wondering how much of an effect any or all of that stuff will have on the gas mileage

if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated

thanks,
Mike

With those tires and mods.. your gonna get around 7~10 MPG.. Stock 4wd Dodge ram gets 12~15 with a 5.2 I've owned a few Ram's and Dakota's over the years..

Their is a little here and there that you can do on any auto Stuff like filling the tires with nitrogen, changing oil and air filters regularly For modifications, its more for diesel trucks, but you can get a tuner that would allow you to tweak the truck and could possibly lead to better gas millage Really its just physics The truck is a very large object and requires more energy to get it into motion another thing is that the gas in all trucks sucks, its just part of it unfortunately For example i have a f350 diesel that only gets on average about 14 mpg Its just part of ownership, if you really dont like it you could always get something else thats better on gas I dont drive my truck everyday cause i would be broke if i did so if you get the chance look into a car or something with pretty good gas as a daily driver to save some cash and gas

If your looking for a mod tr get the dodge diesel they are a lot better on fuel. Unless your mudden the 38 pull real hard. i have 315 on my 04.5 3500 swb auto 4x4 2"lift in front 100hp
Quadzilla chip.ram/air induction airaide filter.20 mph hwy. 17city. The tr your looking at will cost you a fortune to feed.If your on it 6 to 8 maybe 10 hwy.Not good if you drive a lot. Also how was this tr put together pro shop or back yard. How hard was it used off road??? have a 4x4 shop check it out there are a lot of parts & pices that can have issues. There is no warranty with all the mods added to this tr if it current model. Happy 4 wheeling.
