Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the earth is untold thousands, millions, or billions of years old. This is one reason why of several reasons why Jehovah's Witnesses are not Creationists.
Of course, true science harmonizes with the bible.

The short answer to your specific question is that the earth is
4 million thousand years old.
You asked how many thousands of years old the earth is. It would have more easy to understand if you has just asked how old the earth is.
You already had the answer but ‘royal racer’ just put it simply.
The earth is as old as our solar system which is 4.5 billion years old. Actually our sun, a medium star, and all the planets and the rocks and debris in the Van Allen Belt are all the same age.
The “one day is as a thousand years” BS comes from some Christian sooth sayer probably during the rewrite of the KJV sometime in the mid 1700’s when that version of the bible was finally finished. That ridiculous statement was a pathetic attempt to make the creation story seem less unbelievable. The attempt did not work.
You may safely think of most of the claims and stories in the KJV of the bible as folk lore not to be taken as fact.
Much of what made it into the final redaction of the KJV is allegory.
Think of the lesson the writer hoped to convey and see if that has meaning for you. Many people find the poor man's Shakesperian English of the KJV quite pleasant.

Well Science says the Universe is 14 billion years old or older and that the sun is 4-5 billion years old or older.
The Bible says the SUN and EARTH formed on day 4, 4 days after creation.
MAN came at the end of day 6
That's a pretty long time in seconds.
The EARTH was here 2 days or more longer than man.
Man, in a thinking, speaking, civilized sense, has been here by accounts of SCIENCE only about 10,000+ years
The Bible says basically the same thing.
GRUNTING man who beat women with clubs and raped them are NOT thinking, civilized men.
They were here much longer.
The world could easily be BILLIONS or MILLIONS of years old, but THINKING man hasn't been here all that much of a time span.
Science says 1 million years or less.
Religion says 5-10 thousand years
Archacology tends to agree with Religion on that factor

Hello, Nice Girl:
Well the Jehovah Witness must believe in a six-thousand year creation. I doubt that either but Bible chronology places creation about 6,000 years ago. That was when everything was put in order, but that does not mean the world did not exist before.
The word in Hebrew for "without form and void" is TAHU, and that means "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and the earth was desolate.
In Jeremiah four it speaks of the earth in the future being reduced to the state it was before creation. Jeremiah 4:23
"I beheld the earth, and, lo, [it was] without form, and void; and the heavens, and they [had] no light."
The Greek Septuagint translates it: The earth was an ABYSS. That word appears in Revelation 20 where Satan is bound for 1,000 years.
So you see, God created this planet at what some would call "the big bang", but in that worthless state it waited for God's recreation of what we know is earth, and it will ultimately be paradise restored.
More on this as God reveals His plan in a Bible code at: www.revelado.org/revealed.htm
Blessings and AGAPE, Balaam

mans only been on earth just over 6000 years but the earth was here with the oceans then plants then animals long before man existed. i think 13 billion years is closer for the earth. bible never says how long a "creative day" is and the one day = 1000 years for god i dont think is literal. just his sense of time is way different then our own.

Some religious guy figured it out from Biblical texts. He came up with July 13, 4004 BC, or something like that. That makes it 6,002 years old. But maybe by your calculation, it took 6,000 years for God to to make the earth ready for us. I guess my prayers will never be answered.

Man has been walking the earth for about 6,000 years.
You can make your own conjecture about how long the earth itself has been around, but it's most likely in the 6,000-7,000 years area.
