Why are you suppose to seal sowed Venus Flytrap seeds in a ziplock bag? I put my sowed Venus Flytrap seeds in a ziplock bag and sealed it because thats what the instructions said that came with the seeds, theres a lot of condensation occuring in the bag and its creating a lot of water, is this good for the seeds to help them germinate? is that the reason for sealing them in the ziplock bag? Although all opinions are accepted, I need answers from experienced/proffesional people please.

It does help keep the moisture in so the seeds will germinate. However, I would leave a little corner of the bag open in order to prevent mold from growing. Certainly, open up a corner if you see the plants beginning to grow.

While I haven't sprouted venus flytrap seeds this way many seeds can be started in this manner. The ziplock baggy keeps the humidity high and you can alter the temperature in the bag by either placing it somewhere warm (like on top of the fridge or on a hot water heater etc) or some place cold (some plants like Kiwi for instance can be placed on a sheet of damp paper towel and placed in the fridge for a few weeks to aid in germination. Not all plants need this but some do).

Also! If you're over wintering your adult venus flytrap you can place the whole plant in a ziplock baggy and place it in the crisper tray of your fridge. Venus fly traps need a cool winter rest so this method can work very well (or so I'm told, I've never tried this one myself =/).

Good luck!
