There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

A combination of different factors can conspire to form dark circles: aging, sun damage, heredity, allergies, and even poor lighting.

Probably the only fat you don't want to loose lies right under your eye and above the cheekbone, called the infra orbital fat pad. It thins with age, producing a sunken appearance. Light reflects off this recessed area, creating the illusion of shadowy circles. (Contrary to popular believe, most dark circles have nothing to do with actual changes in skin color.)

Because of aging and sun damage (with some genetic tenancy thrown in for good measure) microscopic blood vessels under the eyes can lose their stability and strength. The body compensates by forming lots of tiny new veins. A thinner fat pad means those veins are closer to the skin's surface. The result: darker dark circles.

A couple of quick fixes:

apply moist cool tea bags (caffeinated, like Earl Grey or English breakfast) is a quick fix for puffiness. the tannins in the tea decrease the inflammation, reduce swelling. The caffeine draws water from the skin deflating puffiness.

another fix is cool cucumbers. Enzymes in the cucumber slices reduce the tissue inflammation, shrinking bags and helping erase unbecoming shadows.

These are great appearance enhancers for when you need to look your best. They're temporary, but they work!

The best bet is to conceal with makeup... Yellow neutralizes blues, purples, and dusky hues on the skin.

And treat antioxidants stimulate the activity of fibroblasts cells in the dermis that help create skin strengthening collagen. This firms and tones the area. The best fibroblast-stimulating antioxidants include Vitamin C, and GHK copper peptides.

I have dark circles too and most of my remedies are multitherapeutic. Before going to sleep, apply cold cream (pond's is good) in your undereye area, then cover them with cold compress (those gel eye covers that you can leave in the ref). Your eyes will feel lighter/ less puffier in the morning. A good eye cream will help too.
Also, cold cucumbers can lessen puffiness. In one of the spas I went to, they ended a facial with a cucumber eye mask (the cucumbers are not cut in circles, but in long, wide slices so it follows the contour and it covers your eye area completely . I woke up with refreshed and less puffy eyes.
As of dark circles, you could use a yellow-based concealer (Bobbi Brown make-up has, and The Rice Paper Company from Palladio cosmetics has one too.) for cover-up. Then gently pat it with pressed powder.

put some eye cream in the fridge and use that twice a day..it will be cold and that will remove the puffiness then do a hot compress which will stimulate the blood to move..(that's what the dark is..its blood vessels close to the skin)..then the dark will disappear
