How tall are you & how much do you weigh? Do you obsess over your weight? I OBSESS over my weight every second of everyday! I HATE my body because I've gained 25 pounds (YIKES!!!) in the past 2 years!!! I'm not technically overweight, my BMI is 22.4, but I feel like such a COW! All I can ever think about is how fat I feel! I eat healthy (I have a piece of chocolate here or there but not even once a day) & I do get exercise (I admit not as much as I should) but I get a fair amount...Oh I also drink a TON of water & no soda! (like 15-20 TALL glasses of water a day!) I try to only eat no more than 1500 calories a day... I can't stop thinking about how fat I feel though! Why is this??? Does anyone else OBSESS constantly over their weight like me? Is there something wrong with me that I'm so unhappy with myself?

~When you get comfortable in your own skin, you won't obsess about your appearance.

You could be a gorgeous babe with a perfect body, but if you're a shallow, myopic, narcissist, you still won't be attractive.

Work on your head and worry about your body later.

I don't obsess over my weight at all.
I do, however, obsess quite a lot about the actual appearance of my body. Is there a little bit of fat there? Are those muscles way too bulky (I'm a girl, so that's not exactly what I want)? Was that like that a month ago?

I think it's pretty normal to be self-conscious to some extent. Just don't let it control you too much. Try not to measure yourself so much by quantitative measures like weight, or even BMI.

Judging by your BMI, though, you're comfortably within the healthy range. I would suggest that you let yourself eat a little more but slowly start up on doing a little bit of exercise. Recent studies about heart and general health show that even people who may look very skinny naturally without effort (that's you you 6' 95lb models) can actually be a great deal LESS healthy than those that are of a more average build but exercise regularly. They are more prone to heart problems, stroke, and decreased longevity of life.
If you do begin to do some exercise, you should not gain any weight from fat, and your body will thank you in the long run (as early as your 30's and 40's actually). If you DO see an increase in your weight after you start doing exercise, remember, muscle weighs FOUR times more than fat. You could be gaining weight and losing fat! Imagine that!

Umm DP3 said 'if', not name calling. And we are weight obsessed perhaps because the standereds are set by models, they are called 'beautifall' and all that so we find that attractive. Men have always been attracted to the look that is set as a high standered, like bigger women would have been found more attractive in the past. I don't really understand, I find the super thin models ugly. So this is just a guess.

Um I'm 6'0" and 136, yes I worry about my weight because I'm trying to bulk up, and yes progress gained 2 lbs after losing 2 wooo. Weight apparently doesn't matter much I went from 138 to 136 now I'm at 138 again after 4 weeks and I have to say I look stronger, I feel stronger, but I weight the same? Go figure.

~Move to Ethiopia and eat what the locals eat. If this is your biggest concern in life then you haven't even begun to recognize the real problems you have. I have to agree you have a weight problem in at least one place: your fat head, Cry me a river, toots, then go eat a double Big Mac and a shake. You can always puke afterwards.

Oh, I'm sorry. Were you looking for stroking and sympathy? Mea culpa.

I did check with my kid brother (16) who is dying of leukemia and my aunt (47) who just had the double mastectomy and they agreed with my boss' widow (of 3 weeks - stroke at 37) who all wanted to send you a sympathy card but they were too ticked off at me for bringing your ridiculous worries to them to ask for an address. I told them how shallow they were to be wrapped up in such trivial crap, but you know how some people can be when you crash their pity party. My heart goes out to you - but I promised that to my dad who's been on the transplant waiting list for 3 years and only has about 1 to go. It's a race between him and the bad ticker and me and my kidney: we've got a deal, Dad and I - whoever lasts longer gets spare parts from the loser. 'Tis good we can keep our senses of humor - that might be a thought for you as you waddle in your disgusting pool of fat.

I think about weight every day! I just lost 20 lbs, so I'm 5'9'' and 132lb. I am terribly scared to gain back all the weight I lost, so I check it every morning. I also read food labels for EVERY single thing I eat. You are not the only one obsessed!!!!!!!

Yeah, i used to be anorexic, but like all of my symptoms have gone away, except for constantly thinking about my weight. Like i am ok with my weight now, and i don't get as depressed about it as i used to get, but i still am always thinking about my weight and how it would be nicer to be as skinny as i was, but then at other times i am glad that i am how much i weigh now. I just am always thinking about it all the time, i'm not like overly obsessive, but i would like to be skinny, but not be anorexic and thinking about my weight all the time, but hey, you can't get everything.

Maybe you should keep yourself busy on other stuff?? In fact, the more stress you gave yourself on how fat you are, the easier you will gain those weight. You can engage other activities instead of focusing on your weight.
