Fair question.
There are two extremes of belief in Christianity---Deism, which is also called "God the Watchmaker," and predestination, which I call "God the Puppet-Master.
in Deism, God created the world in all its spleandor, but does not really intervene, so Deism has no reason to explain evil.
God The "Puppet-Master", on the other hand, is a belief held by many who believe that God directs our daily lives and destinies, and in my humble opinion, it is adherants to the latter who have a lot of explaining to do.

A better question would be what is your answer to all the evil in the world, since religion has done a pretty bad job of fixing it.
