Some one that screams, shouts, says ah! every 5 words and runs up and down the isle?
or
A preacher that speaks in a calm, rational tone and presents his message with intellegence and really educates you?

John Hagee
or

Kennedy, more effective teaching style

Hagee isnt a run up and down the isle type but he does raise his voice which is fine because some Christians like to sleep in church (why I dont know, they could stay home if they want to sleep)

Any preacher needs to tell the gospel truth according to the Word of God even it hurts and thats whats missing in a great deal of the larger churches. Also, one who preaches from an open bible and expounds the scriptures to the people not preaching opinion or strange, new doctrines but pure gospel truth.

I don't like to listen to any of them. I like the little cajun guy...he has a great sense of humor and I like that. You don't have to be so somber all the time although I agree that when you are having an altar call, and every preacher should give one, at least once a week.....then you must be serious...

I am just going nuts now, trying to think of that preacher's name....I haven't heard him in a while. Maybe he is upstairs already, stirring up some gumbo for Jesus.

"preacher that speaks in a calm, rational tone and presents his message with intellegence and really educates you."

Who's D. James Kennedy? LOL

...You described two different styles of preachers:
(1) Evangelical Extremist
(2) Teacher.

I prefer teacher style because I like to learn new stuff...and ultimately, I don't appreciate having stuff rammed down my throat. It should always be "my" decision if I want to swallow what's being fed to me.

Unfair question John Hagee has some theological concepts that seem to come from the planet zenon. Kennedy( other than the Christian zodiac )has a firm and sound theological foundation. I would rather listen to sound doctrine irregardless of how it is expressed over heresy,.

I think the calm one. A preacher can get his idea across without screaming down your throat.

Neither, the best preacher/pastor for each person depends on each individuals needs, wants and personality.
Billy Graham - great (Billy Graham Crusades)
Raul Ries - great (Somebody Loves You)
Chuck Smith - great (Calvary Chapel)
* J Vernon McGee - great (Through The Bible)
* Adrian Rodgers - great (Love Worth Finding)
McGee and Rodgers have passed on to be with the Lord but their ministries are still heard everyday and I love them.

Give the two of them the same message to deliver, assume they're both anointed of the Holy Spirit, and the method of delivery is irrelevant to me.

Of my two favorite pastors one is the second, and the power of God flows mightily in his life and ministry.

The other is more like the first (without the screaming and ah's, just shouting and moving around more), and the power of God flows mightily in his life and ministry.

The big difference for me is that I find one of the two more approachable than the other as a confidante, a friend and a brother in the Lord. To which one do you think I'm referring? :o)

As for televised preachers, none appeals to me; too much time, money and attention is given to appearance and fundraising instead of ministering the undiluted Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Between the two, I'll choose D. James Kennedy.

But my favorite preacher is one who uses the Bible, and asks us to follow along, uses real life stories to illustrate what he's sharing so that we can understand the relevance to today, and has a great sense of humor in the process.

D James Kennedy, although I do not like either of them that much, nor any other preacher on T.V.
