I would go with "immersed in illusion"...but I'm not so sure about ignorance...

Not everyone believes in a God. It's as simple as that. Many people feel that there is nothing after their life has ended, so they do what they can to become successful, etc. in the time they have. Even if that means becoming the "bad guy" in the eyes of some.
