Our ancestors who would fight and kill for almost any reason learned another way. It was a monk that went into the Colliisium and brought and end to the gladiator games. If you look at many of the "religious wars" you will find that they were actually being fought over land or other property. if we just take Christianity for instance Many of the rulers who were later called Christian did not become what we would call Christians as they determined that they were Christian after they won a battle that they believed Jesus helped them win ( a bit oxymoronic since He is the prince of peace) and maintained a polytheistic belief most of thier lives espescially when it was convenient. If we look at the Crusades we find that the Moors and Muslim groups had moved far into what was then considered Christian territory( especially Byzantium) such as France and Spain. If you will merely look through the history books including one about that king made famous by the Da Vinci code. Each of the people you mention have a very skewed view of history and God. This is not to say that People have not made bad decisions and hurt people in the name of God. ( I would like to mention however the childrens crusade) But it isn't due to religion it is due to the nature of man which Christianity says one should expect.

Hello,
First the figures of people killed in so called religious wars to the inquisition and witch trials have been highly inflated and are under review. Sigh 2/3 of Europe should have perished so many figures are under historical review over the last 20 years.
I agree with Dawkins views on evolution being trained in some biological sciences myself but on a program town hall meeting on CBC Canada he really shot himself in the foot on that comment on religious conflicts and wars. A prominant Jewish Rabi in the audience brought this very point you made up to him regarding the secular states and anti religious states of the 20th century, some before thay and I can tell you he was rather stiffled. The conversation moved on to something else.

I agreed with Mao Tse Tung's however, I shall not question his intension as at that time in China it is so messy and unstable. What they need is an iron hand!
As for the murder by the crusades, well it is already the past!
What is important is now, in this civilised world, why is it still openly happen "you know which and who"?

I am not sure, but you are over represented in prison populations, while atheists are the most under represented.
It is also a very standard part of a serial killer's profile that they are very religious.
No one kills because they are an atheist. The ones you sited were psychopathic dictators who made themselves a religion. They did the things for reasons totally unrelated to their atheism. There is not such thing as militant atheism. You have never seen an atheist symbol on a battle flag, but plenty of crosses.
Hitler on the other hand picked out the Jews precisely because he was doing "the Lord's work" and that is right out of Mein Kampf. Read it sometime.

ya might desire to understand that Mr Warren has some themes of his very own, like the Lakeland fake revival.beware of his teachings. specific, The Almighty knew all, yet, He gave guy the alternative of not ingesting from the tree of the understanding of sturdy and evil. guy became into given dominion, and that dominion became into TRANSFERRED to devil in the backyard, which made him the "god" of this international. whilst Jesus died on the go, that became into transferred back to guy, yet, the devil nevertheless roams and prowls the earth, deceiving even the "p.c.". (like the above stated). nevertheless boils right down to selection, sturdy, or evil. If people decide for to not persist with the writer, there are outcomes to sin, the fact isn't being preached right here, reason the devil is working the final public of the church homes. Our financial woes are in basic terms the "tip" of the iceberg for the place this usa is heading. The O/T. is basically as appropriate at present as back in the day, different than we don't decide for one thousand sheep out back for the sin alternatives. Jesus dealt with that, and lots greater on the go. As on your remark approximately murdering medical doctors, i'm able to with slightly of luck inform you those movements weren't of The Lord, yet of the devil, controlling those persons. That, might nicely be shown in the interest, because of the fact the Lord needless to say states, "that vengeance is mine, sayeth The Lord".

People killed in the name of atheism: 0
People killed in the various Christianity related things: More than 0
Therefore it is true Christians are responsible for many murders.
The key is Stalin never murdered in the name of atheism, Hitler murdered in the name of Christianity. Communism is communism and it is not atheism and if you can't see that then you won't understand anything in the world.
You are correct in your link that data you posted was revised to seperate out atheism from unknown. It came out to 2.2% in the census from 1995.

The Christian persecution of Europe lasted for hundreds of years, beginning with the Roman Empire. It is well enough documented that Charles the Great, for example, killed 1800 Saxons, even women and children, in one day for that they stayed true to the religion of their ancestry and did not convert to the new and groundless man-made Christian tradition.
But you're not interested in proof. You just want somebody who doesn't believe exactly as you do to say something stupid so that you can hold that up as an example of anyone who does not agree with your point of view.
But look at this: Jim Jones, Heaven's Gate, Charles Manson, Adrea Yeats, Son-of-Sam. Here are a few murderers who based their acts on biblical scripture. I challenge you to provide one example of any murderous Pagan cult.
