His/her signature is in the lower right corner. The first name begins with a C but I can't quite make out the last name. It kind of looks like it may start with an L. Love this painting by the way.

Wow, what a beautiful painting. I'm sorry I don't know who painted it but I am going to check back to see if someone does.
I'm going to google the subject and there are several sites that you can narrow it down. Maybe by subject I can help find out who did this.

The art period itself is late 1800's. The furniture evokes Henri Matisse. The colors are Paul Gauguin. But, the delicacy of composition is more like Alfred Sisley or even Paul Cezanne. It is closest to Matisse. It could be someone's practice / simulation of historical style. If you have this painting, it is intriguing enough to have it professionally evaluated at a University. (If it turns out to be a Matisse, let's go to dinner you and I. : )

looks like an early picasso or van gough to me. Back before they got into their signature styles. if not it looks like it may be from that French Impressionist period right before cubism.

I believe it's Van Gogh. Not certain about the title.
