I grew up not atheist, but skeptical. My father believed in letting me grow up and letting me choose who I wanted to be, rather than to push me to be a person I'm not.

So I accepted the fact that God was real about 2 years ago (I was "saved") however I didn't feel satisfied. I wasn't sure because I heard of all the things God has done and what he does for people in their life at church. But I felt like he didnt show himself to me.

So I of course turned to science, honestly expecting to be pushed away. And I stumbled upon book after book (Lee Strobel, Micheal J. Behe, Ravi Zacharias, & more). And that just allowed me to believed that there MUST be a God, and so I began to try to get to know this God that there had to be, and I did that through Christ.

Some time later after being satisfied with what I had read, and convincing myself there was a God, I had a personal experience with God.

I went to a conference or a meeting, something like a church sermon. And that night the pastor said he was going to let everybody pray for one another, and we were to expect to hear word's of prophecy over our life. And that had been during a time I had been struggling to know what I wanted to do with my life (just graduating high school). And that night I went to 4 different people at different times, non whom I had never seen in my life. I never even spoke to these people to tell them who I was or what was bothering me. As they prayed for me each of them repeated they same thing, telling me what exactly it was i was feeling, and that God has a plan, just let him work his way.

And from that, I KNOW God has to exist, it was just an amazing thing. And because of that, I can never let someone tell me "there's no God, are you stupid/crazy!"

I was brought up in church and that made me believe in God. When I went to church I started feeling good about myself and things around me seemed better when I had faith. I still believe in God even as a 30 year old woman today. I truly believe in the saying that Christians say, "Without him there would be no us". I thank God everyday for waking up!!

The bible does not provide up me from sinning. as a results of fact i'm a sinful person, it is why i desire a savior. and on an identical time as a Christian, I decrease to rubble each and all the time. i think of atheists would be spectacular, ethical people, being concerned spouses, great mum and dad. i'm sorry that some christians have advised you in any different case. I basically think of you're lacking the huge photograph and the deeper, richer meaning that a dating with God provides. It does not make you a foul person and if I knew you individually, i could do my ultimate to be loving in the direction of you. Christians shouldn't hate people that have faith in a distinctive way than they do. i'm sorry you have encountered lots judgment and hypocrisy. we are advised to talk the certainty in love. i think in God and that i think that your loss of perception in God ability you will spend eternity separated from Him. That motives me grief on your behalf, in spite of the undeniable fact that it does not make me think of you're a foul person.

I do not ever remember believing in god. I went to church with my parents as a child, but I questioned them ever since I can remember and that used to frustrate them.

I am an atheist now, and it is because I have looked logically at things, and have decided any gods, or supernatural beings of any sort, are man made

Don't remember my exact age, but around 13 years old or so.

I had assumed there was a God, just because it seemed everyone "knew" there was one.

One day, I realized I just didn't believe.

It made no sense.

There NOT being a God made more sense to me.

No one has ever given me reason to believe; and there's no evidence, so, I've never looked back.

I believe in God because it complies with the sound intellect.

There is no writing without a writer, there is no building without a builder. There is no world without the Creator.

I started believing, so to speak, since about 8th grade. I've been trying to make sense out of what I believe since then (I'm now 25) but I have a lot of unanswered questions.

I was introduced to the concept of god when I was about 4 years old. My dad explained that it was a spirit. I envised a superman looking man.

I went on to learn about the bible in school (my country did this). Even at a very young age I was asking questions that my teacher couldn't answer. It all felt very suspicious to me. As I grew older I started reading more and asking more questions. Eventually I came to the conclusion that none of that could possibly be true. It just doesn't add up.

Product: atheist adult.

When did you start believing in God? Why?

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child:

When did you stop believing in God? Why?

but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
