I can't even pick a number. That was SO WRONG on so many levels. I am embarrassed for all Christians.

I had heard a Hindu priest was going to do the blessing today, but I'm very surprised that he was not shown proper respect.
I believe our country was founded for the purpose of religious freedom. I also believe it was founded based on Judeo-Christian values, and I wish we all still held to those basic beliefs, but that's not practical or even possible. This is very sad to me and I believe we are headed down the way wrong path, but we have to be realistic about where we are as a society. So with that said, would I want a Christian prayer treated the same? Heck, no!
If they didn't want to listen, and wanted to show any level of protest, the best way to handle it would have been just to walk out until it was over.
I'm an appalled Christian.

0.5. I can't imagine something like that not happening the way Republicans have empowered the Right Wing churches. When extreme govt embraces extreme Religion, things like this are inevitable.
And folks, in case there was any doubt in your minds, this kind of behavior is WHY the Founders chose to separate Church and State.
It's looking more and more like the old T-shirt was right: "Christianity has a STAKE in your future."
I would like to know if the protestors were members of the Senate.
And A and B. Prayer is still allowed in the Senate, but not just for Christians. Praying loudly enough, or just talking loudly enough to prevent a speaker from being heard has always been a no-no there. For a Christian it's a sign of weak faith. It show's that He doesn't trust the Truth of his own Religion enough to let others Religions be heard,

1, I'm not surprised. Greatly saddened, but not surprised. And some people don't understand why the religion of Christianity has never appealed to me. I never, ever want to become so rude and hateful to others.
I've always said that I feel that only the vocal minority of a religion would act like this but considering this and some of the folks on YA, perhaps it's more common than I thought.

10. In fact I'm rather shocked the poor guy even got through the door.
What a bunch of @$$#%%#%!!!!
I know not all Christians are like this, but Christians, don't look at this and then wonder why you aren't universally agreed with or liked. Kudos to Christians who have the moral courage to condemn this behavior; shame on Christians who think this sort of thing is remotely acceptable.

Sadly, not surprised at all. There's some Christians out there (like Fred Phelps) who think it's perfectly acceptable to protest soldier's funerals, so something like this is fairly tame in comparison.
If anything, I'm disappointed - this is a poor showing for *anybody*, and all this does is show them as being rude and intolerant. They've got the right to their beliefs, and the free practice thereof - but so does everyone else. It goes back to that whole "your right to swing your arms ends at my nose" arguement - they want to express their religion, but also want a monopoly on that expression.

2... I've always said these people are just a few good sermons away from starting another inquisition, crusade or holocaust. This display shows I'm right. Christians seriously need a Jewish education about their god and their religion. Jews believe that God gave Gentiles all manner of things to worship, and that's why they aren't running around stirring up trouble (as their christian and islamic branches tend to do).
