I have a neighbor (in her 20's) who just traveled to China for surgery to have them removed. None of us ever noticed them but she took them seriously and could not find an alternative for getting rid of them (not just covering them up).

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Try eye creams or eye gel preferrably with sunscreens so you can also apply it even on daytime. One with aloe vera or any ingredient that improves blood flow is also recommended. You may want to cover it with concealers too. There are a number of brands in the market. Choose a color that matches your skintone. Be gentle when applying products or even when you are touching your eye area because it's very delicate.
If you want to go natural, cucumber is the best because it has soothing and moisturizing effect on the skin.

yeah. i quit my very stressful job and it helped tremendously. I too have dark circles under my eyes.... and hardly anything takes them away... BUT, I have found something that helps: Aveeno Postively Radiant Eye Brightening Cream.
But I emphasize a good night's sleep, less stress in your life, and getting some sun (not too much and use sunscreen... but the vitamin D in the sun rays do seem to help). Also, plenty of water helps too!!

Um...I would try this one that I've been using for years. It's rather inexpensive and I can take it just about anywhere. It's called sleep...yes...sleep.
