This little punk (16 or so) downstairs apartment says this to my roomate right as he is going in his apartment. There is no reason except maybe that this guy looks like a loser and my roomate drives an 07 gt mustang I guess? Jealousy or just plain stupidity? Its hard to tell. Whats your guess?

I would simply ask "Have I stepped on your toes?" I think approaching it for understanding is the best route when confronted so offensivly. Asking "Why?" is too simple, and often recieves a less than simple answer of "because."

I would keep one eye on his step, and then I would be sure that the landlord knew this. Tell the landlord that you don't want him/her to say anything right now because you don't want to make things worse. Of course, it could get worse.
Now, I suppose if this were me, I would pack my bags and move into a safer neighborhood. Do some checking on who lives in an appartment first, if that is possible. Seems strange that he would be living there at that age without a parent.

He is probably just trying to be cool or whatever, how old are you and your roomate? Just leave the little loser alone, if he really starts to harass you tell his parents.

Was your roommate about to trip over something, perhaps? Well, probably not, I suppose. Maybe she should invest in a good can of pepper spray.

I would be cautious, There is no telling what people are capable of and It never hurt anyone to take extra precautions. He could be bluffing just to scare her or he could be for real, Who knows.

Punk or not your roomie needs to watch his back. When someone tells you that, they might mean something dreadful. Keep safe, don't walk alone.

You're right, it's hard to tell. He's probably just trying to play a hard ***. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
