The ultrasonic ones really are. They give you 30 seconds per quadrant before they shut off so you can't skimp on brushing. They vibrate at very high speed to whip up a toothpaste froth that gets down below your gum line and cleans out food particles that would otherwise harbor bacteria.

According to periodontists they can save you from needing gum surgery or from having your teeth loosen in your jaw.

The problem with manual toothbrushes is that the person tends to use too much force while brushing, causing abrasions on both teeth and gums. Another reason why electronic toothbrushes are better is they can brush the right directions and very effectively. However, the down-side to it is the cost. Not only it is expensive to get (both battery-operated and electrically charged), you'll need to spend extra on batteries and utility. If brushing techniques are done properly, a manual one (I would recommend Oral B) will be just as good. Just remember to change your brushes every 3 months or when the bristtles fray. Ultrasonic ones seem to be good as they help vibrate of the plaque built-ups instead of using force to clean your teeth.

known ones are superb as long as you sweep your tooth for a minimum of two minutes. the electrical powered toothbrushes often time you on how long you sweep + they scrub deeper and extra precise. the only downside to electric toothbrushes are the pricing and you will desire to charge them generally (on account which you're able to overlook).

Electric or battery operated are the best.

Only if they get people to brush their teeth. Sometimes you need a gimmick to do that.
