we've been going out on dates alone and he almost always ask to see me again the following day. we do things that couples do- shopping, movies, dinner, dessert or just going to parks. my friend had asked him when he was going to say something and he said "when the opportunity comes". the question is, should i wait on him/ encourage him to make the first move or just move on? i really do like him but scared that he will be too late.

sounds like you are already. Is it really necessary for him to ask you? How will that make anything different?

Just ask him, "How would you introduce me to someone?" His answer may tell you where this is heading.

I pushed for a relationship to become committed and before I knew it, I was completely trapped. It is a good thing for a person to get to know someone before adding titles. There is nothing wrong with going on dates or hanging out on a regular without the title. What is important is that you seem to be the only one and he is devoting a lot of time to get to know who you are. Actions speak much louder than words and if you like him, give him some more time. He seems mature and knowledgable of what he wants. Be happy that he wants you and everything else will fall into place when the time is right.

Go ahead and ask him if you want to. My guess is that he won't give you a straight answer. Because he doesn't know himself. Then that will probably piss you off and he will be angry at your reaction. And wondering why you wanted to bring it up in the first place if you are just going to get mad about it.
Another approach is to just assume that unless you find out otherwise that you already ARE his girlfriend.
A lot of guys are totally clueless about women's need to define the relationship and label things and talk about them.
BTW Have you ever looked at one of the Mars/Venus books about gender differences?

My boyfriend and I were friends for 2 years before we started to date. My suggestion is to let things come naturally. Why rush it? If you are friends while you are dating, you know your relationship will be stronger if you become a couple officially.

Why are you in such a hurry? If the guy didn't like you he wouldn't be dating you.Give him some time.Maybe he doest;t want to commit to you until he sure of himself.and his intentions This is what dating is for.Time to get to know each other in social settings, and private.

Ya like the guy above said.... Take him somewhere where he will meet one of your friends or family for the first time. Then ask him, how would you like me to introduce you? It always works.

well give him a little more time, but give him hints, but keep them subtle so that he knows that you want to be his girlfriend. if you can't wait any longer ask him yourself i've asked guys out before and it's not that bad. good luck!
