The TLG is Trilegiant.
They affiliate themselves with many different credit cards, store websites, etc.

The Greatfn is GreatFunOnline

Generally when a person makes an order online, TLG will have a pop up after an order is placed offering a free 30 trial for whatever company is being promoted. They will then offer coupons, rebates, cash cards, etc. as an incentive for signing up.
Or, their offers are sent by mail on their own or along with a credit card statement.

When a person agrees to the 30 day trial offer, to get the freebies, and then fails/forgets to cancel at the end of the 30 day trial, they will be charged the monthly fee.

If this is what happened with you, you should contact them to cancel.
If that was the first time they charged you, you might fudge a bit and tell them that you had contacted them previously to cancel but obviously it wasn't canceled. Then ask them to refund the amount back into your card.

First of all, a CALL to a credit card company to cancel a card doesn't cut it. You MUST put your cancellation IN WRITING in order to be effective and to create a paper trail in case something goes haywire. I would also send this type of letter by a method that will get you a delivery receipt so they cannot say they 'never received it'. Secondly, as mentioned, if the account has a balance they will never actually close the account, and other charges can get thru. What you would need to do, additionally, is make sure that you notify the card company that you've been the vicitim of ID theft and fraud and any charges after a given date are the result of the theft. Again you MUST do this in writing. #1 rule.. if it ain't in writing, it never happened !!

Not them in particular, but i have gotten unauthorized charges to my debt/checking account. The best thing to do is to go to a local branch of your bank and tell them there was an unauthorized charge. Ask if you can do a "stop payment." There is some paperwork involved but once its done the bank stops payment to the corporation. You can also have the bank block charges from them again. If your bank does not offer to do these things for you then you should cancel your account immediately and go to a bank that will. With increasing chances of identity theft and garbage like what your going through, if your bank is not going to keep up with it and you, you need to scram before its too late.

i was signed up when i ordered something off an infomercial and never noticed. Recently I found this on my credit card bill. luckily it has only been 2 charges, but they were charging me $19.99 each time. . i called to cancel and they tried like hell to keep me. DO NOT SAY YES TO ANYTHING! They will practically ignore you.

If the amounts total over $100.00 call your local FBI. Look in the government pages of your phone book.
