Yup... I'm still here, buddy. You're so right... not much maturity. It's sad that one or two absolute morons can ruin the entire forum. The ones who are always questioning drivers' preferences seem to be struggling with issues of their own. Just my humble opinion.

I don't know how "mature" I can really be considered since I answer questions on this site because I'm bored at work! :-) But, seriously, I agree, there are a lot of pointless questions and ridiculous answers. But it's not just here, it's all over this site. There's one troll on the wedding page who posts constant questions about very ridiculous, even sick, situations. I get a bit suspicious when someone is Level 1 and has five questions posted within a few minutes of each other. I guess some people think it's funny to be mean, rude or ridiculous. I try not to let them bother me. It's annoying but it's just a website. A fun website, but still just a website.

There are some left happy. I guess you can have the right subject for a Q and A but you need to just look past some Q and A to enjoy it. I have never paid much mind to the gay remarks from mindless kids. and get a kick to A honestly to a brainwashed NASCAR fan Q. Most of the time if I feel strong enough about a Q I answer it and move on don't really care what everyone else thinks 50% of the time. I just enjoy stating what facts I know and things I remember about the old NASCAR and my feeling of today compared to yesterday.

Well i usually try to answer in an intelligent mature manner. However when questions regarding race, sexual orientation or pollution are asked in way to be derrogatory towards nascar fans I usually feel the need to answer and make the asker see how assinine they are being. Other then reporting those people there isnt much that can be done besides ignoring them. As a hot tempered redhead i cant seem to do that but if you can more power to you. And yes this is how i act in the real world also and im not ashamed of that.

Well, I have to say that it does seem to be getting worse. I took a 3 month break and when I came back, it was like the whole site had changed. I don't think a moderator(s) would work. It seems like too many posters. On some sites that are moderated, it takes forever to get a post approved. I don't mind the kids so much because it is pretty obvious by most of the questions. Is (fill in your favorite name) the cutest? Maybe if people would stop answering the really irritating ones, they would get bored and go somewhere else.

I've been told that I'm mature beyond my age of 17. I don't come here to ask pointless questions, nor do I really answer with stupid things. Actually, I take that back. I recall a few times that I was in a weird mood and actually answered questions with weird things. But I still consider myself mature.
Seriously, the maturity level of this section seems to decline everyday, and I think it's getting out of control as well. I think the first graders at the elementary school in my town are more mature than some of the people around here, and they went off into a giggling fit when I said pu pu platter.

I'm still here but for the most part I only answer reasonable questions from people I recognize. Now I am to the point where I usually check and see who is online answering before I post questions. That way I get some positive responses. If you look at some of my recent questions those people who answered are the mature ones.

Well, I'm old enough to remember when Richard Petty was at his peak, but I've never been accused of excessive maturity!
Seriously, I've been involved in a number of different online discussion groups, and they ALL were plagued by trolls until they went to a moderated, members-only format. Since Yahoo is unlikely to do that, our choice is to put up with/ignore/report the intruding random idiots, or leave. Personally I enjoy some of the comments here, and don't find it difficult to skip over the rubbish.

Hey Happy! I agree, that's why you hardly ever see me post a question, I can't believe some of the pointless (Litteraly cuz they lose 5 pts) questions on here. Especially the "Isn't Kasey cute?" "Who thinks Denny is a Hottie?" questions. Ugh grow up or post your I gotta crush questions in the teenage section. Where are all the real NASCAR questions?
I'll admit every now and then I throw out some fun post to try to break the troll blizzards, but let's get back to racing folks!

I do have to say that many times age has nothing to do with maturity. Just go to a CUP race and watch the fans for a while. There is nothing mature about many of them. I do believe that there are those that don't belong here and talk of a driver's sexual orientation, discredit anything they don't agree with, etc. But, my wish would be for meaningful dialogue about the races, drivers, pit stops, car set-ups, etc. Let's stop the rude and crude language. Again, I don't think the actual age is the problem.

Ya gotta admit, some askers just BEG for the answers they get. But, there is a line between good-natured bashing & being a real jerk.
Personally, if someone asks a question that asks for an opinion, and I happen to feel like venting at the time, sure, I'm gonna let it out.
On the other hand, if it's a sincere, honest question, they'll get a sincere, well thought out answer.
I have to agree tho, Hap...the "Human Sexuality" and "Tiger Beat" rooms are down the hall.
