ok people, calm down. i never said there was anything wrong with being curious or wanting knowledge. all i'm saying is, in the long run, how we got here isn't going to make a damn bit of difference.

That's exactly like saying,"Ok, I'm laying in my comfortable bed. Why should I get up and face the world?"

We are a curious bunch for a reason, even if it's just evolution. The more we know the better we will survive and prosper. The world needs brains as well as breeders, otherwise we're no better than cattle.

If you do believe in a Supreme Being then why would you not want to know everything you possibly could about His/Her creation?

Remember, we are here now but we wouldn't be if someone didn't wonder "Why?".

I just read your follow up. I have 2 kids with degrees in History who would argue that you can't know where you're going if you don't know where you come from. Maybe you think we would be happier if we were still swinging in the trees. I believe that's true for some!

Once again... cattle.

It matters.

Should we just allow any untrue information to go unchallenged? If people are willing to be scientifically ignorant on certain issues, are they not going to then be ignorant and accepting of false information when it comes to other issues, like the efficacy of condoms preventing HIV, that a three day old clump of cells desevrves equall rights as all human beings that have already been born, denying global warming, and Saddam's supposed connection to al-Qaeda?

Somethings are true. Some things are false.

Yes it does matter, the information/facts would be of great value. Debate? give me a break there is no way the ranting and posturing on those subjects can legitimately be called debate.

Fine, be a drone, and leave curiosity to the intrepid. We won't miss your type.

u r right. and since the warring factions of religions are knocking heads, is it decently safe to say they are not making the best of it? (yes, yes it is)

How do so-called unbelievers muster enough "faith" to believe that ... in the beginning, there was nothing, and nothing turned into everything without God.

It takes more "faith" than I have, to believe everything came from nothing by accident!

By comparison, our Creator is much easier to accept. I believe God is the only logical answer to the unnecessary beauty & variety of creation.

The Word of God says "God IS love." Do you believe in love?

God is good...and GOOD is "good for God's Sake"!

As Pascal said, there is no profit in doubting God. There is nothing you can gain by unbelief.

Without proof of God, we must still chose good! So we choose GOD!

i agree with you! why are we debating and continue to debate, when knowing that there is no right and wrong answer... it doesnt make sense, people are entitled to their opinion, but there should be no debate.
