If you eat more than you burn, you store fat, period - doesn't matter if it is carrot sticks. If you eat less than you burn you burn fat, period - doesn't matter if you eat candy bars dipped in lard all day.

You must be consistent when eating less than you burn to continually lose weight and not go back to square one with a binge day. Therefore, unless you are consistent, you will continue to gain weight anyway so it makes no difference if you eat potatoes verses burgers. I will tell you simply what you already know: the burger has more calories than the potatoes, but not may since you are eating two. Eating any one of the choices you have will cause you to get fatter, bottom line. Get it? Good Luck!

A cheeseburger from McDonalds has 320 calories and 13 grams of fat. A baked white potato has 85 calories per 100g, and eating two of those would be better than a cheeseburger or probably any homemade one unless it was a soy burger.

A cheeseburger whether it is homemade or McDonalds ~ it doesn't matter.
Eat the 2 potatoes instead including the skins.

The cheeseburger because it is coming from McDonald's and you do not know what is going into it. Usually burgers have more calories anyway.

It depends on the weight of the person and how much exercise you do. It seems to me that you want to put on weight. Maybe you should look at this differently try putting on muscle instead of fat because this is more healthy for you, try eating more protein, healthy cabs and good fats. Also try weight resistance training for health muscle growth.
