The pain doesn't bother me but I have had my nose pierced 5 times and after about 4-5 weeks it goes bad and really hurts even if I have really looked after it. My friends have told me not to get one cos my skin must be sensitive but I say that theres no foreign objects staying in my skin (apart from the ink) so I should be ok. Any thoughts?...

Think about it before you get it done, what you think looks good now may look awful in 20 years time. I hate mine, I got them in in 1998.

In MHO, NO. I was watching a news program the other day and it was mentioned that the cost to remove a tattoo would be between 4 to 10 times as much as it cost you to get it put on. So a $100 tattoo could cost you between $400 and $1000 to get it removed. It's is not worth it even though I have a small one that over time [ 63 years] has faded.

I have five tattoos now, When im deciding on getting a tattoo I dont just rush into it, becasue thats the best way to regret something later on. If I have found a design i think about it for a few days/weeks making sure I feel 100% that Im not going to want to get it removed in a couple of years. You need to be 100% sure when getting a tattoo, to save all the money and scaring of getting one removed. I also have sensitive skin, this didnt cause me any problem when getting my tattoos.

As long as your sure what your getting done, go for it! Tattoos look great when done.

The problem with tattoos is that they look cool today, but in a few years when fashions change you look like a dork. Removing them is often not easy and either be painful or leave you looking like a smallpox survivor.
The ink is definitely a foreign object, sometimes people have allergic reactions to it, but the main problem is that permanent decorations of your body will eventually be out of fashion and then you'll look like an idiot.

being honest, I think it's a bit common to have a tatoo these days because everyone seems to have them but it's obviously a personal choice ...
re the allergies, you may well have a nickel allergy that causes the problems with the piercings (I don't wear earings anymore as it isn't worth the discomfort) so a tatoo probably wouldn't cause the same problems but talk to professional guy first & maybe just get a small one, somewhere out of sight to see how it goes & if that's ok, then go as drastic as you want .....

yeah an object is not going into your body which makes it worse cause you can't remove a tattoo as easy as a piercing if it goes bad... so if your skin is sensitive i'd say no... cause if you do get it and for some reason your skin rejects it you can get sick from the ink or if it reaccts it can look gross and there's no way for you to just take the tattoo off like a piercing..

Tattoo's and body piercing are OK for the primitive and ignorant uneducated people in Borneo etc.
People who feel a need for them are basically insecure, if nature wanted you to have them you would have been born with them.
You should be happy the way you were born, and consider the poor people who got disfigurements at birth and they would be glad to change places with you, any infections are natures way of telling you that it's not the right thing to do.

I had problems when I had the top of my ear pierced, but have had no problems with either of my tattoos. I think you are right about the foreign object aspect of it.
