Is it the U.S. for tightening their sovereign borders or is it Mexico for making life so intolerable that people migrate?

Or do you believe the sole responsibility is on the shoulders of the individuals who made the stupid decision to make the illegal trip without sufficient supplies?

I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised by the answers here. I'm a firm believer in personal responsibility, and it appears that most of you are as well.

Cheers!

Look, I didn't force any of them to come here. If they die getting here illegally, or get killed once they are here, it is their decision. They broke a law coming here. If they die on the trip to get here, well, they died attempting to break a law. If a bank robber dies in an accident on his way to rob the bank, it is his own fault. He wouldn't have even been there at that place and time if not on his way to commit a crime.
The US needs to tighten borders, we do have terrorists in the world who hate us, and illegals who hate us just as much.

I don't really mind if a few more people like these don't make it here. I think the ones already here need to go back across. However they came, walk, back of a semi, swim.

I believe the blame lies in the hands of the countries that these people are fleeing from. I know from many personal stories that these people do bring sufficient supplies but there are people out there robbing them, and taking what they have so they have a better chance to make it here. While the people they stole from are left in the desert to die. To some the whole thing seems absurd, and outlandish but to these people they see it as a chance a way out. I see some call it stupid, and are happy that they people are dying to reach our country, the country we take for granted.

It is the sole responsibility of the person who made the stupid decision to try to cross illegally.

The illegal aliens are to blame and get no sympathy from me. If you jump off a roof and break your neck when there is a nearby ladder, you are foolish. There is a legal path into the US, and I honor and respect those who take it.
The Mexican government shares the burden of fault for encouraging the exodus, which then pours money into the Mexican economy, taking it from the US economy.
The only fault of the US is not having already secured the border, preventing all possibility of illegal crossing.

It is the persons decision to risk their life and this has always been happening. It is happening more now because their are more illegals. Their country advocates it and supports it, their media portrays illegal immigration as the 'only way.'

The illegals are to blame. They never learn to take responsibility for their actions. Unfortunately, they are learning the hard way.

I've been taught to be responsible for my actions. If I go wandering around in the north pole with out a jacket and die from hypothermia, can I blame Canada?

UNFORTUNATELY,THE USA CAN'T TAKE ON THE WHOLE WORLDS PROBLEMS AS IT IS WE HAVE AT LEAST HALF OF MEXICO HERE PROBABLY ILLEGALLY! I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MEXICO CAN'T BECOME A STRONGER COUNTRY THEY MAKE MILLIONS IN TOURISTRY AND THE PRESIDENT OF MEXICO IS SUPPOSE TO BE LOVED BY THERE PEOPLE. WHY DON'T THEY SCREAM AND YELL FOR RIGHTS IN THERE OWN COUNTRY FOR HEALTH BENEFITS,MONTHLY BENEFIT CHECKS,AND EVERYTHING ELSE THEY SNEAK OVER HERE FOR. THEY MAKE THERE OWN CHOICES,LIKE I SAID YELL AND SCREAM AT THEIR COUNTRY

Individuals and Mexico. We cannot be held liable for your decision to break the laws...

The illegals. They take on a task they know is very dangerous, and criminal.

Just like i have no sympathy for a bank robber who gets shot by cops.
