this guy that i was friends with for awhile has a HUGE crush on me. i know i flirt with him a little bit, but i've given him huge hints that i don't like him. he texts/calls me/comments me on myspace ALL THE FREAKING TIME! he even asked me out on a date and i gave him tons of reasons why i didn't want to. he tells everyone he likes me so much, but then he's around me all the time and won't even talk. i don't like him at all like that and he's not my type. he won't take a hint and i wanna let him down easy, how do i do that?

If it has gotten this far you have to pull him aside (No public embarrassment) and say look I do not mind having you as a friend, just that a friend, but we are not compatible as anything more. If you want to talk once in awhile thats fine, we can say hi in the halls or on the street, but it will never go any further than that. SO it is up to you we can be occasional social friends, or you can keep out of my life completely. That is how I feel, and that is how it has to be.Your a nice guy, just not the guy for me and I am sure you will find the right girl in time.

I guess the guy likes you, but he's picking the wrong time to talk to you. He may not want to pay attention in class, but you do. I would definitely talk to the teacher about this, before or after class. Ask if the teacher will direct Mr. Chatty to sit on the other side of the room from you. Unlike you, the teacher has the power to enforce such an order.

Did he get that the flirting was a joke? Because take it from me, some of you do it so well, we don't understand that it's not for real, and it hurts us. Just a note for the future, stop it with him or anyone else again, or it'll start all over again.

Try giving him a chance, but just say it didn't feel right to you. If you're good friends, either do the above, or say you don't want to damage your friendship.

Seems like you've been trying to let him down easy for a long time now and it's just not working.

You just have to accept that you are going to have to hurt his feelings to get what you want.

i know you don't want to be mean but sometimes you just have to be forceful and tell him outright to stop it. a similar thing happened to me and the only way i got him to leave me alone was to tell him outright to leave me alone. since then he has. good luck!
