Jesus is the Jewish Messiah but he was not the "Prophet like unto Moses" who was to come from the "brethren of the Jews".

The Holy Ghost is not someone who has not come… according to bible he has always been around.

Therefore who is the Comforter or “That Prophet” who John said he was not when asked (JOHN 1:19-21) ?

Moses replied : "And the Lord said onto me, they have well spoken that which they have spoken, I will raise them up a Prophet from among ‘their brethren’, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." (Deuteronomy 18:17-18)

The Bible refers to the Ismaelites (Arabs) as the Brethren of the Israelites :

(Gen 16:12) ....and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

(Gen 25:18) And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that [is] before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: [and] he died in the presence of all his brethren.

In this verse God specifically says from “their brethren” meaning that this a significant change to the usual lineage of the Prophets. The Final Prophet would com from the “brethren” of the Israelites which means the Ishmaelites in Arabia. This is why many Jewish tribes moved to Arabia to await the Final Prophet. The Quran were verses literally put in the mouth of the Prophet in the new tongue (Arabic) which was then memorized and repeatedly recited by all the companions.

-------------
Jesus said someone will be sent after him -- he will leave so the Final Prophet or “Comforter” can come with a final law that would JUDGE and establish legal commands of God to follow.

"But now I go my way to Him that sent me and none of you asketh me, 'Wither goest thou?' But because I have said these things unto you sorrow hath filled your heart. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth, for if I go not away, the [Last Prophet/Comforter] will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and approve righteousness and judgement" ----- John 16:5-8

To approve righteousness and Judgement means a new LAW would be sent through the Last Prophet.

Obviously Jesus is not talking about the “Holy Spirit” being the comforter/Prophet because the Holy Spirit has already come as once as a dove and many times before that.

The Holy Spirit has already come many times --- (Luke 1:15,Luke 1:41,Luke 1:67,Luke 2:25-26) and it is a divine “favor” or understanding….. not an actual person or Prophet.

And I will pray to the Lord, and he shall give you another [Prophet/Comforter/Spirit of Truth], that [his example] may abide with you for ever. (John 14:16-17)

As a mercy unto mankind God has promised to send down and protect a final complete message(Holy book) and code of life (human example) before sealing the Prophethood.
The Sunnah (example of the Prophet) is kept alive by every Muslim copying the life of the Prophet Mohammed.
---------------------
"But the Comforter[Prophet/Comforter/Spirit of Truth], whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your “remembrance”, whatsoever I have said unto you."—John 14:26.

The true message of Jesus, Moses and the Last Prophet is kept alive forever through the memorization and daily recitation of the Quran.

"I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. How be it when he, the Spirit of truth , is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak- ----- John 16:12-14 -

This shows that the disciples were not given a full code of life nor a full message of absolute truth. Rather they were given glad tidings that a final Prophet would come who would teach them all the truth which would not only confirm what was said before but would tell of much more to come.

Holy Quran 5:48 To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the truth of whatever there still remains of earlier revelations, determining what is true therein, and guarding it in safety:
-------------------------
This Final Prophet will come as Isaiah predicted ………. From the land of Kedar (Arabia) and from the branch of Jesse (Ishmael)

“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out his roots. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge, and of the fear of the Lord.”--- Isaiah 11:1-2

The Quran calls the Angel of Revelation (Angel Gabriel) the Ruhool Qudoos “Holy Spirit” who is sent down to “strengthen” the Prophets.

According to Encyclopedia Biblica, we read: “Jesse is contracted from Ishmael”. (Cheyene , Encyclopedia Biblica under “names”)
--------------------
Isaiah tells of the Prophecies of a “Servant of God” who will come from the land of Kedar with a divine Law and he will be victorious over his enemies in battles.

He will bring a new law and message in a new tongue(language) and the villages of Kedar will sing the praises from the mountain tops.....

“Sing unto the Lord a new song , and his praise from the end of the earth…” (V.10)

“another tongue” (Isaiah 28:11)

Let the desert and its towns lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits; let the inhabitants of Sela sing for joy, let them shout from the tops of the mountains. 12 Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastlands. --- (Isaiah 42:11).

Ishmael dwelt in the wilderness of “Paran”(Gen.21:21) He beget twelve sons one of whom was named “Kedar”. (Gen.25:13)
------------------
******** The reason Muslims use the bible to prove several points is because it is mentioned in the Quran that Allah sent down glad tidings of the Last Prophet to come in the Torah and Injeel (bible).

HOLY QURAN - 007.157 "Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the Torah and the Injeel (Gospel);- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper."

The Apostle Peter says you are wrong.
He clearly states Jesus was the Prophet like unto Moses mentioned in Deuteronomy 18:18-19
" I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account."
Deuteronmoy 18:18-19

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. For Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people.'
"Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days. And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.' When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways."

Acts 3:19-26

As for the Holy Spirit, Jesus called Him a Person, and He said the Comforter was that person.

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I (Jesus) have said unto you."
John 14:26

Furthermore the Bible makes it clear that the promises are through the line of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

"Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman (Ishmael) and the other by the free woman (Isaac). His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.
These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written:
"Be glad, O barren woman,
who bears no children;
break forth and cry aloud,
you who have no labor pains;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband."

Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does the Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son (Ishmael), for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son."Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
Galatians 4:21-31

Nice try, but you can't pick out the words you like and ignore the rest.

Ok, I have read every letter here in Ur "Statement" (Can't find a Question in it) but I'll presume Ur trying to make some sort of "Pro Muslim, Rah, Rah, We're the Only True Religion" point to someone??? Sorry, but I think that by Now, Everyone is Rather Sick of Ur & Other Muslims Feeble Attempts to Justify Ur MURDEROUS, FANATIC, TWISTED RELIGION!!! U see, ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN UR EMPTY WORDS!!! And Ur people even KILL their Own Kind!!! So why don't U just go & take some "Suicide Bomber Lessons" from the Local Mosque and then report back here with Ur "Virgins" as to who the "TRUE & LIVING GOD IS"!!! OBTW, Jesus Christ Died for Ur Sins so that U too could go to Heaven if U just Accept Him!!! That's the "Gospel" & the "Good News" just so U can't say no one ever told U!!! John

I, too, can take scattered verses out of context and make a doctrine from them.
Example:
Matthew 27:15
"And Judas went out and hanged himself".
Luke 10:37
"And Jesus said, "go thou and do likewise".

Ive not red all your extra details youve added to your question but I have read your initial question. What I will say is that whatever you say about Muslims, one thing is for certian is that they are very steadfast when it comes to thier relgiion. hence they dont change thier relgious customs, for example even though people regard thier beliefs as medieval, the muslims still follow it, as that is what their relgion tells them to do. As for christains i believe the bible ahs changed to accomodate the believers of the relgion. Look at christianity 400 yeras ago and look at it now, look at islam 400 years ago and look at it now. islam hasnt changed a lot yet christianity has.

I believe there may be a prophet, but the savior is still Jesus Christ and he always will be.

It should be noted that the bible does not use the word "the last prophet," there is no such thing as the last prophet.

The words, "the last prophet," and "comforter," are not interchangeable.
The comforter is the Holy Ghost.

Jesus is referred to as Lord, Master, Teacher and God in the Bible, but also our Heavenly Father is referred to as God and Lord.

You have to be aware of who is speaking to get the correct meaning of which character is being spoken of, Jesus Christ or God himself.

I come from the belief that Jesus Christ and God are two different beings, as you have significantly proved here, they have two distinct purposes, one is a messenger and the other the "organizer," if you will.

Also:

I find it interesting that you would miss the whole meaning of the chapter of Genesis 25 explaining which of the sons inherits the covenant blessings from Abraham, Isaac or Ishmael.

Ishmael is the son of Hagar, the handmaid of Sarah. Sarah is Abraham's first wife. Since Sarah couldn't have a son, she asked Abraham to have Hagar to bare a son unto Abraham, who ended up being Ishmael. A few years later, God blesses Abraham with a son through Sarah, his name is Isaac.

Hagar and Ishmael were cast of Abraham's home because Ishmael mocked Isaac.
The Lord establishes his convenant with Isaac's lineage instead of Ishmael, but because he is Abraham's son he is promised that from his seed, the people will be a nation.

Genesis 21: 9-13

9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.
12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

Galatians 4: 28-31

28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Ishmael was born because Abraham needed an heir to his fortune. Sarah was blessed by God to have children, her son was born out of the blessing of the Spirit of God, and as the firstborn of the first wife, he inherits the blessings of the kingdom of God and his nation is even greater than Ishmael's.

But as Galatians 4 v. 29 says,
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

You stated:
Genesis 25:13
And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,...

Ishmael died, and his sons preceded him who then became the "generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:"...(Genesis 25:19)

Hereafter is where Isaac and his wife had two sons, Esau and Jacob.

Esau gave up his birthright as the firstborn, then Jacob received the blessings. From Jacob where born the twelve tribes of Israel.
(I suggest you read Genesis 35)
(The sons of Jacob and Leah)
Reuben
Simeon
Levi
Judah
Issachar
Sebulun
(The sons of Jacob and Bilhah)
Dan
Naphtali
(The sons of Jacob and Zilpah)
Gad
Asher
(The sons of Jacob and Rachel)
Joseph
Benjamin

The fourth son, Judah, is where King David's lineage comes from. David was a son of Jesse (a name you are well aware of) of the tribe of Judah. This is the branch you have spoken of.

Joseph who married Mary, of whom Jesus was born, was a descendant of King David:
Matthew 1: 6-16

6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah that was to come.
