Pinworm perhaps...

How is pinworm infection diagnosed?
If pinworms are suspected, transparent adhesive tape (often called the "scotch tape test") or a pinworm paddle (supplied by your health care provider) are applied to the anal region. The eggs become glued to the sticky tape or paddle and are identified by examination under a microscope. Because bathing or having a bowel movement may remove eggs, the test should be done as soon as you wake up in the morning. You may have to provide several samples to your health care provider for examination. Since scratching of the anal area is common, samples taken from under the fingernails may also contain eggs. Eggs are rarely found during lab examinations of stool or urine. At night, the adult worms can sometimes be seen directly in bedclothes or around the anal area.

How is pinworm infection treated?
With either prescription or over-the-counter drugs. You should consult your health care provider before treating a suspected case of pinworm. Treatment involves a two-dose course. The second dose should be given 2 weeks after the first.

1st, ring worm, uh, no, that's a skin disorder. How big was this thing? A tiny white worm (literally pin size) could be pin worms & there may be over the counter meds for that by now--grade-school children often get them, not a big deal. If it was flat about 1/8 inch wide any length, moving or not, could be a tape worm, again, not hard to treat. Keep an eye on your stools for a day or two, collect a sample if you can (I know, gross!) and take it to the doc. Don't panic & try not to be embarassed, you will live & it could be worse on the red-faced scale of things. Good luck.

It most likely is a worm of some sort... a tapeworm is usually really long and looks like a ribbon... it is actually more common than you think. GO TO YOUR DOCTOR. They have medicine that will take care of it within a few days. Do not wait.

Keep an eye on your next couple of poops. If they are still there, you need to get over your embarrassment and contact a physician.

If they look like they are flat and long then there is a possibility you have Tape worms, which is common from dogs licking their butt and then licks your face and the eggs can travel to your intestines. If I would you go see a doctor soon as possible.

There can be over 100 different types of parasites worms living in human bodies. Some are microscopic in size while others can be seen quite easily. These common organisms can be found everywhere in our environment, in the air we breath, in the water we drink, or in the food we eat.

Parasite is an organism that lives on or in other organisms from which it obtains nutrients to live and causes harm in the process. Its name comes from the Greek word para that means beside, and sitos, which means food.

Most parasites require some host to complete their life cycle. Animals can also serve as the host. The parasite will vary in size from one-thousandth of one micron to whale tapeworms one hundred feet long.

Parasites and worms can invade your bodies through food and water intake, through transmitting agents (like mosquito), sexual conduct or through the nose and skin. Once established, they will eat the same foods you eat or they will eat you.

People with intestinal parasite infections are usually under-nourished and weak, infected with viral, fungal, or bacteria, and have various types of chemical and metal poisoning. Human intestinal parasites can be present in any disease, in any person, at any age.

They are responsible for many health problems because they secrete toxins and steal the vital nutrients from our bodies. They can irritate or exaggerate other health problems you may be experiencing. Everyone is at risk and under their mercy during parasitic infections.
