it's not me, it's this guy at work, a tree jumped out in front of him and totaled his car, not his fault (of course), he was going 15 and he slid.

Most likely not, because although he had insurance it covers legally licensed drivers of which he was not. Luckily no one else was hurt in this incident and hope your friend is OK

15 miles an hour and lost control? He needs reaction time that alcohol won't give him. Slid the car doing running speed give me a break he does need a revoked licence. Driving illegally with out insurance because once they find out they will step aside and let the bank repossess the car. Tell him to watch out while moving about at 15 miles an hour trees move all around and he might run into one on his next bicycle. Drivers training did not kick in I guess.

la428282 is correct. You do have a truckload of answers from people who must not be involved in the insurance business. They are making assumptions and giving inaccurate answers.

Yes the insurance company will pay the claim as long as he had a valid license when he purchased the policy and did not lie about it on the policy application. During my career I have paid literally hundreds of collision coverage claims to people who had a revoked DL.

He can expect fines from the state and increased rates or possible cancellation for driving after revocation but the claim will be paid.

That's a question for his insurance company. If he was driving on a revoked license and a police report was filed the insurance payout may be the least of his problems.

Yes, generally (atleast with bigger carriers) it will be covered. Most people who answer arent in the insurance industry.

He can expect huge hikes in his rates in the future though.

And that is pretty humorous that he thinks he isnt at fault. Even if he was going 15 and slid! He didnt maintain control of his vehicle! Who elses fault would it be?

IS he going to be in for a surprise. Maybe you should explain the meaning of revoked to him. He obviously doesn't know.
