8 days ago i ate 6 tylenol 500 mg and the next day had six drinks. i had soreness in my liver by the end of the night on the tylenol 500 mg. i am 19 years old and have used drugs recreationally which have caused the same pain-tightness-bloatedness in my right abdominal area (painkillers- acetaminophen, cocaine, ecstasy), though it did not last more than 24 hours. i have now had pain in my liver for about 8 days and it seems to have gotten higher in my stomach, and stronger in the past two or three days. i have played intense basketball (i won but felt as if and used adhd medication (provigil)since hurting it. i am trying to see a doctor, but cant get an appointment for a few days, and would like to avoid the ER (pain in the ***) if possible. No noticable fever or jaundice. ive been drinking lots of water, - the first few days of pain (5) no matter how much water i drank my urine was dark (within the normal dark range though). should i go to the ER now, or can i wait a couple days?

I am going to give you advise based upon my own opinion...

I do not think you have permanent liver damage you are way too young...you had a problem, that caused you to take the acetaminophen...what was it? is your skin yellow/greenish..? are you eating?
based upon my insticts, and your information, I believe you pulled a muscle in your stomach area...you should go and get some milk thristle that will help your liver...

I dont know what a dr. can do even if you are having liver problems...(which I doubt)..but you should consult with one anyways...for peace of mind.

take care

its not an er situation, but get set up for a blood and urine test, dont be afraid ,if there is any damage catch it early, they have a heavy syrip that will detox your liver if thats what it needs

the main thing is to catch any damage that is done early on.

i just barely survived endstage liver cancer, and that was one
rough experience, youl get some preaching from the docs and nurses but they'll help you get the whole picture, sounds like there may be blood in your urine!

Quit all the anti-inflammatory meds , rec drugs and liquor NOW .
Just drinking lots of water can dilute your electrolytes and cause more damage .
Drink moderate water and eat healthy ( fresh cooked fish or poultry and steamed veggies) and see your regular doctor ASAP !

It can take several years but your liver can regenerate back to almost perfectly normal.
