Actually, Ice Dams were NOT covered in my HS science classes. It is possible that the geological formations had not been discovered yet, or that the information had not yet trickled down to our curriculum back in the day.
I must disagree with your interpretation of the Mediterranean area floods, however. A glacial flood would have raised the level of the water, that is true, but a cataclysmic flood would not necessarily follow from that. The water in the rivers, lakes, and seas would have found it's own level naturally over time.
However, an earthquake or volcanic eruption (to which the Mediterranean area is very subject) could have caused a sudden shift in the land masses, and hence the sea levels, creating a sudden flood.
Such an explanation could also account for the "breaking forth of the fountains of the deep", or sudden geyser explosion, also associated with the account of the Flood.

Let me just point out to you, that the Bible does not specifically say HOW the flood happened. But I am not going to get into a childish argument, about what is or is not taught in my local high school.
Please, open your mind and see that just because someone is a Christian; does not mean they are uneducated or unintelligent.
I also want to point out that every culture around the world has a Major Flood story and they are not saying it is a localized flood. They also call it a World-wide catastrophe. There are some things which are learned as we grow that we will not be taught in our local schools. Because they are under the control of the Board of Education and a lot of bureaucrats; who want only their ideals taught in our schools.

Yes we know all that. Ice dams are the primary cause of the land formations in the Bad Lands. So what of it?

The ice age is a major proof reference to when the Bible stated that God had put a pillar of clouds around the earth after Satan took a 3rd of the angels to make war with God, and try to take over, which is where we get the saying:"the love of money is the root of all evil". The actual translation from the hebrew reads," the love of ritches is the ROOT OF ALL evil". When Lucifer(Satan), looked at what God had given to him as a gift, the sun, stars, moon, expanse, earth, God had only asked that when he descended from heaven that Lucifer lead all creation in worship to God. There was evil before you and I. Our love for money is not the ROOT OF ALL evil. Lucifer became greedy and wanted all. That was the ROOT of ALL EVIL! After lucifer tried to take over, God put a pillar of clouds around the earth(ice age). It is what happens when you knock out the sun light from the earths atmosphere. And from within this ice prison Satan stated,"how can such a loving God do this to his own creation. Sound familiar. This is what non belivers say when arguing that there is no God. Contrarily Satan was, at this point, very aware of Gods existence. So God said,"ok, I will release you from this frozen prison and place a mortal man, made in my image, with my spirit, on your turf and through him I will defeat you". This is where our warfare started. Notice that all creation worshipped God. Scientist are just now realizing that light or rays of light have a musical sound or quality to it. Scientist in the last 100 years or so are just realizing that if you take, for instance a room 10'x10'x10' and freeze it to 300 degrees below "0" it becomes a solid block of ice. Hmm sounds similar to what God did but on a larger scale. Evolution could have taken place for billions of years before God created Adam and Eve. Our missing link is Jesus, who would show up later. Who sais it has to be in chronilogical order anyway. Although Jesus participated in the creation process. The Bible makes reference to heathen nations prior to Adam and Eve. So maybe these were like humans just not made in the image of God with his spirit. The first chapter of Genesis 1:1 states in the begining. The literal translation from the greek states" in the begining which is not the begining God created. What this is reference to is the fact that God had already created Lucifer, angels etc...The first chapter of Genesis is the account of man created in Gods image. For more info on how scientist are just now starting to catch up to what the Bible has always stated; STUDY MORE. You and I are obviously not animals, we are made in the image of God and drive cars, eat with forks, dress up and play dress up, go to concerts, and so on and so on and so on. No animal has evolved to this point except us. Makes no consistent sense. So don't be stupid, stupid.

"Orion's sock puppet", your one weird dude, I'm not sure what your question means....are you asking what Christians think about evolution or are is it that you only want Christians to answer this particular question, if so, why? What Christian perspective are you hoping to get on Ice Dams?

What does an Ice Damn have to do with being a Christian? Other than if you are using it as a metaphor.
