is that a question trick?!
its not a trick question. the response is somewhat obvious, to what oyu are probably expecting - a resounding no and some varing words and explantions around it (and some nuts, maybe some fruits too lol)

cant really follow it up with y believe in the bible - some one would only have to say - I dont believe this about that.

But I beleive some people make some good points worth considering. I believe there exists evidence for some things - however to beleive everything that people say to believe .. mm.

Oddly I suspect most things that are beleived people arent told to believe. its simply presented as fact. and thus believed. how do you define belief? I define it as the concepts that person acts with. Others seem to belief it is something you can say and thats it.

ever noticed how the word justice - has a similar sound, some what concated to the phrase 'just is'. consider that when a machevilian (not sure on spelling there) philosophy seems to have been applied.

I notice that you seem to have gone along way to try and make a trap for people. The next thing you will do, is post the follow-up quesiton something like "Well, if you don't believe everything that people tell you, why believe the words of the Bible."

Definitions:
Heresy = any opinions or doctrines at variance with the official or orthodox position

Heresay = a legal principle concerning the admission of evidence through repetition of out-of-court statements (it has nothing to do with religious teaching or anything outside of normal Court Business)

Not everything.

I think that heresy doesnt work anymore after America took a load of bull from Bush over Iraq. As for the rest of the world they learned these lessons over 2000 years ago. How behind the US is!

What I find is that people prefer to believe rumors than facts.

From the book, “Satan Unmasked” by Dr. James B. Richards, Impact Ministries Publishing Dept. 3300 N Board Place SW, Huntsville, AL 35805 (Quoted in compliance with the fair use law) Page 15: “Once we accept a certain opinion, the mind begins to seek equilibrium. In other words, if you believe it to be true, the mind seeks to prove it true. There is a set of nerves at the base of the scull called the R.A.S. Activity in this area of the brain affects our reasoning process. Once we accept something as fact a neurological process begins in our brain. I call this process ‘selective reasoning’.
“In selective reasoning we stop seeing things as they are and seek to prove what we have already chosen to believe.”

I don't believe the things I believe because somebody made me or somebody didn'y say Steve would you plz. But I believe in the 1 true God because I know {with my heart} He is the 1 true God. I was the one who made the decision to go to Church. I am not even the one who pulled my mom and dad into Church. I kept at them, but it was all God. And I'm not the one who says we still have a choice to leave or stay it is God. But we don't leave we stay because after you truly get into this life you know it is more then just a Church, it is a body. And I am not the one who said Steve your my Friend and touched my heart. And everybody Jesus can do the same for all of you. He loves you and wants you, He's more then a man. And less then any of you. He wants your lives. God Bless everybody!

Why yes, yes I do. People are always down on being a blind follower, but I absolutely, positively, believe every single thing anyone tells me. Why not? I have a wealth of experience to draw from as a result.... from cliff diving to a lucrative investment in transpiration infrastructure (own a bridge).

I would believe the story narrated by tens of trustworthy people to tens of trustworthy people to tens of trustworthy people and so on until it got to us. In that way it is impossible that they would be lying. Such an example is the narrations historians rely on of past famous people and other occurences in the past. Also, miracles.

i dont. with the Bible i believe what i read. if someone tells me something i will go and study it for myself. i believe in baptism in Jesus name. and being filled with the Holy Ghost. for a while i did not believe in baptism in Jesus name but i studied and realized it was truth. none of us should believe someone else. even your pastor. you should always read the Bible for yourself. and not just the verse to make sure he read it right but the whole chapter and those before and after to make sure it is true. some will say a verse and say see it says so but they are taking that verse out of context.

Th Gnostic Gospels so frightened the church that they had to declare them heresy. You see they were not about control and fear and the church was afraid of losing its power over the sheeple.

interesting observation! no, i've always been one who's challenged what i'm told, and i never have and never will allow another person to tell me what to believe or how to think...it's gotten me in a few hot spots, but it's also enabled me to face myself in the mirror
