Yes I know better than to pop a pimple and I usually don't but I made and mistake a popped one and I have ended up with a small red and dry patch of skin on my face? I think it is because when I popped it some of the skin got peeled off and it could be trying to heal or create new skin.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the healing process or get rid of it, or to help reduce the chances of it leaving a scar?

You can try using triple antibiotic ointment on the area to see if that helps. You should start to notice some results within a couple of days.

People are probably gonna think I'm very stupid but this is what works for me. So, I did this a few months ago because I'm not the smartest. Keep that in mind. Acne is caused by bacteria growing in and under your skin right? So I absolutely thought that if Hand Sanitizer killed bacteria, why can't it kill it on my face? Andddd that lead to me putting some small amounts of hand sanitizer in my T-zone and other practical places.I do this about 2-3 times a day and that works really great for me. No more acne.

Another thing I do is, if I'm in a melt-down situation, I grab a piece of ice and rub that all over the acne for 1-2 minutes. (Or until it's completely melted.)

I also use this Carrot exfoliating face wash with beads in it. It smells weird to me but great to others. And leaves your face really soft.
Yes.....very stupid tricks but hey....it works for me

I heard from Tyra Banks that if you have a red spot on your face you should put clear eye eye solution on it and it will help to get rid of the redness.

1. CLEAN!
Wash your face with a gentle, oil- and fragrance-free cleanser; preferably a nondetergent one labeled pH balanced.
If you have oily skin all over your face, use a cleanser that contains benzoil peroxide or salicylic acid.
Don't scrub - irritated skin swells around the pores, which can cause breakouts.

2. TREAT!
Apply a topical acne treatment containing benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid over your entire face, not just where blemishes have already erupted.
Tricks of the Trade:

If you can't get to your dermatologist (or needles make you squemish), temporarily reduce redness and swelling by dabbing on a drop of drugstore cortisone cream, Preparation H, or Vasocon-A eyedrops.

other home remedies:
There are a few quick-fix home remedies to cure the problem of redness in pimples. An ice cube held over the pimple for about 20-minutes followed by a dab of milk is quite an effective solution. So is holding a wet tea bag or a cotton swab dipped in lemon juice against the pimple for about five minutes.

How To Get Rid Of Pimples Fast?

- Apply a bit of toothpaste on the affected area before bed to reduce irritation and redness.

- Mix three table spoons of pure honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Apply it on the pimples and leave it there overnight. Wash it the following morning with warm water. Continue this for several weeks to achieve results.

The toothpaste thing is not very helpful for me but my skin is extra sensitive. I think the icecube one makes alot of sense since we use it to help with swellings.

And, for the possible acne scarring:

Hope this helps!

Okay, first of all, you don't pop your pimples. And by the sound of it, i think you've got some kind of skin infection, flaky + white =suspected infection. So, without knowing what it is, don't apply any home remedy. It's likely to do you harm rather than good. Go to your skin doctor, he'd be able to tell you what it is.
