In Word 2003, click on Tools (in the Menu bar, at the top of the screen), then click on Options.

Click on the File Locations tab.

Highlight the line where it says 'Documents', then click on 'Modify'.

Choose where you wish to save your documents, and then click on OK.

Now, click on the Save tab

Make sure there's a tick mark in the box that says 'Save AutoRecover info every:' and then adjust how often you want documents to be autosaved.

click on Autorecover Files, then Modify, should be able to set your folder now.

You also need to turn Autorecover on on if it isn't already,
click on the tab, then tick Autorecover, and enter how often you want to save
