Hi Grendel,
Actually I did marry a foreigner but she lives here and became a citizen here. I learned another language at that. In the other scenario, if I was able to function in her country, have a job and support or help support the family I would.
If not I would certainly have to be realistic and not make the move since I could not live off her all my life.
My friends and relatives are spread 3000 miles across Canada so long distances have always been a manageable issue for me.
Regards,
Michael

I might. It would depend on the person, and the country, as well as the part of the country. For example, in Italy, where I do not know the language (and am too old to learn), it would be OK if I was in a college town with a lot of people who speak English. I don't think I could handle it in a Muslim country, or someplace where conditions are primitive. If they don't have modern plumbing and electrical appliances, aren't "westernized" to the extent I am comfortable with, I'd probably not be willing to try it. And if it was a dangerous political situation, I would definitely not be willing to try it.

it would be exciting and there are other ways of communication with friends and family, but i would probably spend some time with them still i mean it's not like i'd be living on mars. But, it would depend on the place, here are some places and answers:
England- depends which part
Iraq- no (they are involved in wars and are very violent at the time)
Iran- no (same)
Austrailia- yes
you know what i mean?
<3 Steph
p.s. it would also depend on the circumstance and person and how strong our relationship was.

If I really loved the person and if I'm certain that he really loves me, I'd go anywhere with him.
