I want to put hardwood laminate floors in my house but I have two dogs that occassionally may wet on the floor. One is old and the other is just scared of bad weather. I would like suggestions on a good brand to purchase and any experiences you may have had with the same type problem.

Armstrong is a good brand. I dont have dogs, but have a toddler that is constantly spilling stuff on the floors. They hold up well, just try and clean up the mess right away. When it soaks in is when the problems occur. And when you wash it use something like a swiffer instead of a mop and bucket so you dont get too much water in the cracks. I love mine, and are a great cheap alternative.

If your dogs "accident " is likely to be on the floor for any extended period of time ( ie.bad weather while you are gone at work) then I would say no to A laminate product . If any water or urine gets into the seams (and it will ) the pressed wood behind the laminate will swell and there is no way to repair it, without removing the entire floor-then the money you saved buying laminate is gone!
I would suggest going with A basic solid hardwood (some are not much more than some laminates) As these can always be sanded in extreme damage cases but most often
A well sealed hardwood floor will hold up to many things, including dogs "accidents"

I don't know about the brands, but i just bought a house that has hardwood laminate floors from a dog owner. The floor looks great even though the dog had free reign of the house. I don't have a dog, but when I spill something on the floor it easily comes up and doesn't damage the floor. My sister has real hardwood floors and she is always so worried about her kids spilling anything on the floor because she doesn't want to ruin the wood.

I wouldn't choose laminate of any kind if I had dogs that had accidents. You would be better off with a ceramic tile flooring that could easily be kept up. Any natural flooring cannot stand up to urine.

Having dogs will create two likely situations. One, as you mentioned, will wet on the floor. Secondly, the dogs will scratch the floor and you WILL NOT be able to repair! Make a wise decision. good luck.
