Here is proof. To those that say that the Israeli soldiers only target terrorists, please tell me, after watching the video, how exactly was the cameraman who was filming their illegal acts a terrorist? He did not have a weapon, he lay on the ground to show he meant no harm. They keep firing at him even though he is not doing anything. When people try to get him out of there, they open fire even more. What do you think about this? Does this change your mind about the conflict, or has the brainwashing been so successful that rational thinking has fled?

"Jul. 5 - A Palestinian camerman is hit by a volley of bullets while filming clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian militants in Gaza.

The cameraman, Imad Ghanem was filming for Hamas's al-Aqsa television channel when he was fired upon.

In video filmed by a colleague he can be seen lying on the ground with his camera by his side."

I've never believed in anything that causes suffering and I'm sad that there's so much suffering going on right now. It's my most heartfelt wish that people would stop being so divisive and learn true altruism... this world needs it so bad. It's killing my heart that I have to worry about friends in other parts of the world, just because they're different, that they might be killed by some form of hatred... it just SUCKS.

How do you know he lay on the ground to show he meant no harm as opposed to laying on the ground to take cover before using a rocket launcher?

Moments before he was with militant gunmen?

Would you stick your head up for a long time for a careful inspection of a crowd of armed militants to make sure it was only a video camera and not a rocket launcher?

I don't think this video tells the whole story.

It's WAR. That happens. I can't comment on this specific incident but my brother went through a similar instance in Somalia - the one that Black Hawk Down is based on.

In that case the news crews refused to put the cameras down after being ordered to by the soldiers. In these circumstances the bad guys don't wear neon signs that say "I'm a bad guy". People masquerade as press in order to get close enough to attack.

Soldiers do what need to be done.

It's a WAR.

In your quotes, you missed out this bit:

"Eyewitnesses said moments before he'd been with a group which included militant gunmen, though he appeared to be unarmed. "

I agree, shooting at unarmed civilians is totally wrong and cannot be condoned, but the situation over there is so volatile, mistakes are going to happen.

All armies, including the Americans, are guilty of killing innocent civilians, and of 'friendly fire'.

We are doing the same in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Israelis also killed an American girl in Palestine by running her down with a tank or bulldozer, I don't remember which.

I'd say as I always say, "War sucks."

I've never taken sides in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Both sides have their stories about who started it but I'd rather hear about who's finishing it. If nobody stops shooting ... then there's nothing anyone can do.

I would say that he wasnt thinking real clearly. I would have stood back and used my zoom function on the camera.

Stupid is as stupid does, its a popular intellect marking around these parts. STAY OUT OF THE LINE OF FIRE

I' m sorry but if you lay down in the middle of a gun battle what do you think will happen? Camera man or not you are going to be shot at. I look at it as god thining the heard. Darwin award for this gentleman.

I see your point and I'm sure atrocities are taking place... but here's my worthless point of view. When combatants use women and children as shields and human bombs, can a camera man be trusted... under the fog of war, I mean? It's sad and tragic... but when you're in it, the term "innocence" is found in all shades of grey.

I'd seriously say "tell me something I don't know".

I've Baned the news from my life, and if I was able to, I'd bann war from ever taking place on earth.

( too bad that dreams live, but never happen).

Peace.
