I'm not religious and can't see me being religious in the future as i feel that they are basically 'Clubs' and to join a 'Club' you need money.
If i WAS religious then my answer would probably be i would feel SERIOUSLY let down by that religion for misguiding me and i would feel that the people in charge would need to see and hear my dissaproval and i would get involved in demonstrations etc to make SURE they be removed for good and don't spread their lies again.

I think it would depend on what the new information was that ruled it out. I figure that anything that would rule out a religion would have to be a statement that would in itself point you in a new direction. I think faith is important, but I think people are too stuborn to accept new information as it arrives. I like how Buddhism is open to evolving as information arrives. There was a great quote that I think the 14th Dalai Lama had about Buddhism changing to meet the science of the times. I would butcher it if I tried to quote him though. I'm not a Buddhist, but I really appreciate a religion that accepts the fact that times change and we are always learning and changing.

I was an atheist before and perfectly happy and fulfilled; if my religion was proven false, I could fairly easily go back to having no religion at all. I would fill the void with humanist philosophy, compassion, and wonder at the state of the universe as it exists.

As a Christian, my faith is based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If one day there was beyond a shadow of a doubt proof of the opposite, then i would not believe anymore and probably go about being a Jew.

Now, for those who might wish to stone me for what i say, consider this question: If your faith is not based on the resurrection, if your relationship and devotion to God and hope you have in this life is not based on the fact that Jesus arose from the grave, then what is the basis for your faith?

Well, I'm not really religious, but if someone asked me what I believe in, I guess I could say that's what I am. Now, if those beliefs were to be proven false, it'd bother me for awhile, but I'd eventually accept it at a certain point. I mean, I'd probably just go back to playing video games nonstop again.

I'd recognize that wisdoms can be useful in some situations but may not be applicable all the time. I'd look for a wisdom that fit the situation.

I believe in God but I wouldn't consider myself to be religious.
I think God is man - made so the question doesn't really apply to me.

I am just answering this because I think it is a very good question and I wanted to give you a star.

How would it be proved false. I'm a Christian and I really don't know how you would prove that all the Bible is false. Cause you can't. And just because Scientists say that they found something to prove it false doesn't mean that they are right. Really, you can't. Cause Christianity is true.

Well, considered that logical debate has been applied to the proverbial feet of Buddhism, and hasn't been disproven yet, even His Holiness the Dalai Lama said we would have to rethink everything, but again... that's so seriously NOT likely.
