he will not activally persue filling of any claims by the therapist. nor has he filed them on his own. and now is insisting that i owe him money for unsubmitted insurance claims.

Who received the therapy? If YOU received the therapy, you are ultimately responsible for the charges, regardless of whether or not the bill was ever submitted. If HE received the therapy, he is.

If it happened DURING the marriage, then the judge should have settled any outstanding debts during the divorce proceedings.

YOU can't owe HIM any money for this, unless a judge has said you do. But whoever received the services is ultimately responsible.

Depends on your divorce agreement, but, if you had insurance at the time of the claims file them yourself to avoid the drama. Call the therapist and insurance your ex may be full of you know what.

But, be aware that he may be right. Were you still married at the time of the treatment? Check with your divorce attorney.
