Excerpt from the Book by Senator. Al Gore(of 1992): "Earth in the Balance" Page 261 - 262:

One of the newest of the great universalist religions, Baha'i, founded in 1863 in Persia by Mirza Husayn Ali, warns us not only to properly regard the relationship between humankind and nature but also the one between civilization and the environment. Perhaps because its guiding visions were formed during the period of accelerating industrialism, Baha'i seems to dwell on the spiritual implications of the great transformation to which it bore fresh witness:
"We cannot segregate the human heart from the environment outside us and say that once one of these is reformed everything will be improved. Man is organic with the world. His inner life molds the environment and is itself deeply affected by it. The one acts upon the other and every abiding change in the life of man is the result of these mutual reactions."

And, again, from the Baha'i sacred writings comes this:

"Civilization, so often vaunted by the learned exponents of arts and sciences will, if allowed to overleap the bounds of moderation, bring great evil upon men."

Also, it may interest you to know that, as he was writing his book, Senator Gore approached the National Spiritual Assembly Office of External Affairs in Washington for information on the Baha'i position on the environment and that office provided him with a variety of materials. I’m glad they do such a good job!

Bahai's believe in Science and Spirituality should work hand in hand or else it will result in destruction of humanity.

Most religious communities probably wont support the idea of Global Warming, especially Christian ones because for 2000 years they have heard that what nature does is God's will and only that, that we have no effect on the cycle of nature. Despite the fact that we pollute so much that the layer protecting the earth from the sun is being destroyed and is hard to naturally repair itself because of its cellular make up. Many people have also come to the conclusion that we are in the last stages of life for the earth, and as such they wish to see the divine come to earth and all that stuff. I say we should do our best to stop Global Warming and see to it as best we can that Humanity can live here in comfort for as long as is possible and if the end of the world does come then at least it didnt come early because of the stupidity of humanity at times. It is true that the earth naturally heats up and cools down at times and that scientists say we are in a time when it is naturally gona heat up, but they also say the rate at which its doing it is not natural and we need to do something about it.

i won't be able to communicate for the 'religious community' regardless of it is, yet as a Christian i've got faith we are meant to do what we are able to to preserve God's international. although nevertheless, I easily have a situation with the worldwide warming difficulty, that's - if worldwide warming is led to with the aid of human interest and this is a foul element then the logical end is we want fewer people. i do no longer see Al Gore volunteering to drop lifeless to do his section to shrink warming. I additionally won't be able to recover from the actuality that 30 years in the past, the 'professionals' have been asserting that the earth became into late for yet another ice age. And to borrow from George Will, have been we extra suitable off while a sheet of ice coated Chicago? who's to assert that our climate development is the final in comparison with till now eras like the 1600s? climate data have merely been saved for approximately a hundred and twenty years. we ought to continuously do what we are able to to decrease emissions from the prevalent components. i do no longer force an SUV or very own a powerboat. i'm inquisitive approximately construction extra nuclear capability flowers. in spite of everything, France gets 70% of its capability from nuclear, and in the event that they are able to do it, so can we.

Georgia Peach, it's true that the Earth does warm naturally. It's also true that without greenhouse gases it would be too cold for us to live. However, warming this hot this fast is NOT natural. It is what WE did and WE messed up and now WE have to fix it.

By the way, awesome question. I've been wondering that for a while.

On the other hand, the blowing of the seventh trumpet brings no joy to the nations. The time has come for them to experience Jehovah’s wrath. As John relates: “But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give their reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” (Revelation 11:18) From 1914 onward the nations of the world have fiercely expressed their wrath against one another, against God’s Kingdom, and especially against Jehovah’s two witnesses.—Revelation 11:3.

Throughout history the nations have been ruining the earth by their incessant warfare and bad management. Since 1914, however, this ruination has escalated to an alarming degree. Greed and corruption have resulted in expanding deserts and tremendous loss of productive land. Acid rain and radioactive clouds have damaged large areas. Food sources have been polluted. The air we breathe and the water we drink are contaminated. Industrial wastes threaten life on land and in the sea. At one time, the superpowers threatened complete ruination by way of nuclear annihilation of all humankind. Happily, Jehovah will “bring to ruin those ruining the earth”; he will execute judgment on those proud, godless humans who are responsible for earth’s sorry state. (Deuteronomy 32:5, 6; Psalm 14:1-3) Therefore, Jehovah arranges for the third woe, to bring these wrongdoers to account.—Revelation 11:14.

Global warming is scientific. Christians don't believe in science and so therefore they will pray that God kills them before the Earth burns up.

I don't know if global warming is a fact or not, i hear reports from the media and scientists which seems to indicate that it is --- how reliable and if they have an agenda, I do not know.

I do know the Bible tells us that as long as the earth remains, there will be both summer and winter:

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. - Genesis 8:22.
