STRESS!! Stress is a big factor when it comes to cold sores. I've never had one but my mom used to get them all the time. Carmex really helps them out, abreva works pretty well too, but it's very expensive.

Most people that have the virus don't know they have it. only 10 percent of individuals actually get them. They are usually caused by stress or illness. the best way to get rid of them is a prescription called zoverax ointment or a pill form. the over the counter meds don't work and could cause it to spread. Kissing is not what causes it and who ever think that is an idiot. If you have an outbreak that has not been treated you could pass it to someone by drinking from the same glass, kissing, touching something they have touched after touching an open sore, and oral sexual contact.
People are idiots and if they make you feel bad about having them try to educate them or tell them to kiss your butt.

it could desire to be from one or a style of components - solar exposure, rigidity, or the herpes simplex virus (HSV). you're saying which you get them extra in the process the summer season months, so it could desire to be the 1st 2 motives. i've got observed that generally i'm extra probable to get a chilly sore once I incredibly have my era (because of the fact the hormonal fluctuations/decreased immune device could make a contribution to chilly sores), and that i are transforming into a chilly sore earlier from only staying up overdue alot (which lowers the immune device, once you do not sleep sufficient). Dehydration additionally would not help in combating chilly sores. i've got additionally gotten a chilly sore after being v. under pressure. Preventative measures: attempt to apply a typical lip balm for the day time that provides solar protection. i think of Nivea has one. additionally Carmex is stable for dry, chapped lips. Sleep nicely, and drink lots of water in summer season, and attempt to not rigidity out. :-) combating the little buggers: as quickly as you sense a tingling, grab the closest icy-chilly merchandise you could, like a ice cube from the refrigerator, wrap it with 2 single layers of tissue and save on with directly to the affected bit. Or a chilly bag of frozed peas held on the nook to the affected bit. next step is employing Zovirax in a amazing masking layer if it develops extra. Repeat, repeat over 3-5 days. Carmex something of the lips. Cool tip: a pass to to an indoor ice-skating rink does wonders. It actual helped me on some activities to subdue the size of the rattling component.

Stress and changes in temperature - sudden cold spell, sudden hot spell, and, yes, sunshine.

Or, if I'm about to come down with a cold, sometimes I don't get the cold, just the cold sores - whether this is a plus or a minus, I'm never sure!
