Jesus is all-powerful. However, Jesus is giving Satan the ultimatum He gave us: "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance." (I Peter 3:9) Too bad Satan will never accept the deal.
Satan's story is told in Isaiah 14. Satan was the most beautiful of all of the angels, and that pride went to his head. He tried to BE God and so God kicked him out of heaven.
God WILL cast Satan into the lake of fire, but not yet. Everything in Revelation has yet to happen (the great deception, antichrist, the beast, etc) but do rest assured, God has, does, and will always reign.
Revelatoin 20:7-10 says "When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out ot deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth--Gog and Magog--to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city He loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
then Jesus said "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life."

You asked, "Why can Jesus snap his fingers and make satan go away?" Why can he...God gave him the power!
Then you asked, "Isn't he all powerful?" and the answer to that is...yes!

Jehovah god is the one who is going to get rid of satan. Why he is waiting is because if he just got rid of everything bad right now he would be showing that he is powerful, but not just and fair. We already know he is powerful by seeing everything he has created around us. He is waiting to get rid of Satan and everything bad to show that he is just and fair, he is giving all of us time to get to truly no him and follow his commandments as a Jehovahs Witness. When the time is right(which is soon as prophecied in the bible) he will destroy satan, everyone not following him, and everything wicked. Then all his followers will live on paradise earth as he intended. We are not connected to Satan unless we choose to, because Jesus was sent down to die for us as a ransom so we coul choose right or wrong.
For more info ask a Jehovahs Witness, they are found worldwide.

If GOD were to Eliminate satan, all of the Human Beings connected to him (all of the Lost People) would be Eliminated too.
Adam hooked us up to satan years ago (spiritually), we are all born Lost.
I was born Lost. I Accepted Jesus as my Saviour and got Disconnected from satan
(this is NOT Demon Possession---it is just having a Lost Spiritual Nature that satan had first)
by accepting Jesus, I was hooked back up to GOD Almight Spiritually.
GOD is trying to Save all that HE can.
Later, HE will Eliminate satan.

Revelation tells us that once God is done using Satan, the Lord will throw him into the eternal lake of fire, right behind the beast and the false prophet from the great tribulation. Of course, all those who shunned faith in Jesus Christ or belief in God will subsequently be thrown there too.

The Day is coming when this will happen, however, the scriptures must be fullfilled. You want to defeat satan, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, then you no longer belong to the devil but to God. He may tempt you but he has no longer has any control over your eternal destiny. God bless.

Thats what I'm saying, its one of those funky loopholes. Its like religion needs a bad guy otherwise what MAKES you want to be good for the good guys. If there was no villain what would make the good guys so good and so much better than you.
i love when you ask this question all these people say that he can and theres a reason blah blah blah free will.....
BUT
why do you have to repent and ask for forgiveness when the all powerful could help us all live in eternal harmony with no hatred and nothing but love? *COUNT IT*

Don't believe anything you read unless you personally have concrete proof. There is no Jesus or Satan. They are fragments of a story made up a long time ago.

Sure, but why bother. He knows you can decide for yourself. He has no need to eliminate Satan.
