Dear Meg....fear can also be the RESULT of OCD. Who told you that you have OCD? It sounds to me like you may have done some "self-diagnosis" and that is always dangerous. Talk to a therapist or counselor. Find out what is really going on and spend your energy on alleviating these "attacks" instead of trying to intellectualize about them. Things like this do not usually go away on their own. Let someone help you out and ............if it means anything to you,,,.....,,,I forgive you and so does everyone else here!!! best wishes

Your fear may be tied to OCD.
And then your fear may be tied to your FAITH.

Have you considered what the definition of the "unpardonable sin" is?
Have you spoken one-on-one with a minister or Bible teacher?

Over the years some have falsely believed that suicide is the unpardonable sin ........ because you can't ask forgiveness later.

The New Testament teachings explain the "unpardonable sin" to be the sin of unbelief......the sin of not believing Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he died on the cross to pay for your sins and mine. To believe that he can be trusted with my soul because he, today is alive, haven risen from the grave on Easter Sunday. And currently he is in heaven sitting beside God the Father. ---------- If you have believed this for yourself, and have asked forgiveness for your sins, then there is no way you can commit a sin that is 'unpardonable'.

There is no need to go crazy over this, no need to repeat and repeat certain words, no need to fear your future actions.

Consider having a talk with a person of faith from your church. Many of your fears should fade, and so should the symptoms you have spoken of.

OCD is a mental disorder, it does not happen because of fear alone. However, fear can be a contributing factor for people who suffer from OCD. The fact that you are having panic attacks and some of the other things you are describing, I would certainly say that OCD is a possibility, but you need to see a psychiatrist.

I think the OCD is causing the fear, since your thoughts, and how you think about your thoughts, is what makes you feel good or bad.
You might do well to see a Dr. and try some Prozac or Zoloft, or check out a book called
Feeling Good Workbook, by David Burns.
He points out types of thinking that cause us to feel fearful, sad, or even hopeless.
