Simplify your life and buy Julia Child's "The Art of French Cooking".. Any of her cookbooks are all you need!

There is one other, perhaps, worth recommending : Larousse Gastronomique (sp?)

Amazon..com is a good source for both new or used.

Hands down, the French Chef, by the late, great Julia Child.....God bless her, she is one of the women in my top 10 list, in the culinary world, as she had the bright idea to "reinvent" French Cooking.......I wish I had gotten to meet her before her passing; FYI, her entire kitchen, upon her death was donated to the Smithsonian Institute (where it is now enshrined). So, if the Smithsonian put it on archival display, she was one hell of a lady!!! Enjoy her humor when reading the book

Larousse Gastronomique is largely regarded as the French Culinary Bible. Wonderful illustrations and even better recipes, I highly recommend.
