Zorak says, "I don't quite understand your question. To let you know, Christians don't try to convince anyone that a statue is God. One of the 10 Commandments forbids idolatry and that there shall be no other gods before the Lord. During Moses Exodus, his people began making statues out of materials such as gold and began worshipping them. The Lord forbid this. No Christian is "forcing" anyone, but if one is, he is way off course and not a true Christian. Jesus was a man, but he also had the Holy Spirit and was, indeed, the Son, the Truth, and the Way. He is and was many things, other than a man. No Christian I know forces the concept of Jesus being a man; He was a man, but He became more than that after His resurrection."

Are not mankind the children of God?
Is not God our Father?
Are we not created in his image?
Does not a father want his children to be like him, especially if he is perfect?
(Remember who said "Be ye therefore perfect")
Christ was almost stoned by the religious leaders of his time because they thought it was blasphemous to declare man is a God....
John 10
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
So, yes.
