I want to go on an all inclusive beach vacation, either mexico or carribean in late october/early novemeber. The travel agent doesnt suggest going between now and the end of novemeber due to hurricane season. This is the only time I can go though. Do I need to be careful my trip may be ruined? Is there a place that is less likely to be hit then others?? Any suggestions?

During this time of year there is the risk of hurricanes in the Caribbean. However there is always an advanced warning before one hits, which gives tourist the time to leave the island, and there are islands that are usually outside the path of most hurricanes, like Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.
Personally, I would recommend you Curacao. It has the most things to do and see, and the most fun.

Yes...Hurricane Season Starts June 1st and continues until November...the most active months is usually September although we did get hit w/ a high cat 3 in the Mid of July two years age Hurricane Dennis. Hee Hee to Zuesefl- above me- I must be batting a 1000 than because I moved to Florida from Washington State and we were hit with Hurricane Ivan high Cat 3 and Hurricane Dennis High cat 3 within a year of each other. Argggg ( you guess it I live in Northwest Florida).

The likelihood of a hurricane happening exactly when and where you plan to vacation is slim, however it is a reality, so my best advise is to buy travel insurance. It shoul be offered through your travel agent or poss. through your credit card company if you are using one to pay for your trip. If for some reason there is a delay or your trip is cancelled altogether, you can be reimbursed the money you paid out for the trip.

But don't be afraid of going to the Caribbean in the fall - I've done it several times. The weather is beautiful and because of the perceived hurricane threat, many resorts are only half full, meaning no fights for a lounge chair by the pool or having to wait 10 minutes to get the bartender's attention.

Have Fun!

Take the latest date in November you can. Each week later decreases the chance of a Hurricane. There is no way to predict where a Hurricane is going to hit. The other option is a cruise as the ship can navigate out of the way of any hurricane.

The Bay Islands of Honduras are in the Southwestern Caribbean and are south of the usual hurricane corridor. Most hurricanes pass well north of the area. The islands are beautiful and can offer most any kind of accommodation you may want. Check any one of dozens of websites for Roatan, Guanaja, or Utila.

That's not a good time. hurricane season peak is in Sept so there's a high possibility of hurricanes in October.

the chances of a hurricane in late October early November are very very slim....I'd be more worried about a snowstorm grounding your plane up north!
