I was 22 when proposed to, and I'll be 23 when we're married and he'll be 24.
We've been dating for 2 years, but have known each other for 3 years.
Our engagement will be 5 1/2 months by the time we're married in November. Any longer would be torture...its hard already!

i do no longer comprehend why you will get engaged in case you probably did no longer intend to have the marriage interior a three hundred and sixty 5 days or so. isn't that what an engagement is for? "Will you marry me at some undetermined element in the a techniques destiny?" does not strike me as lots of a comittment, style of like a promise ring once you're 12. I easily have a chum who have been given engaged 3 years in the past, after he'd asked her for approximately 2 years. She ultimately reported definite, yet then reported she would be waiting to no longer marry him for a minimum of five extra years. There are honestly no wedding ceremony plans in the works. He so badly desires to be married, and that i think of she's never going to do it. i think of in case you have been engaged awhile with out business enterprise wedding ceremony plans, that it is going to become something you're used to, and it loses its particular status. possibly it is why ultimately making plans the marriage will become anti-climactic.

My story's a bit complicated by the numbers. Got engaged, broke up, got engaged again 3 years later.
Want good numbers? Date for 6-12 months, get engaged at 25, be engaged for 6 months.

Engaged 4 months (my dad was very ill, and we wanted to be sure he could be at the wedding).
Me: 35, him: 44.
Dating: 3 years (he dragged his feet with the proposal even though we had been making plans during year #2. He made up for it by agreeing to a short engagement).
Marriage: awesome - couldn't ask for a better husband.

We were engaged about eight months. We had known one another a year, then dated for two. I was 28 when we got married - had two degrees, career started -- and there he came into my life, out of the blue!
