just a couple of days ago I gave her to play with some catnip. She played with it and sniffed it for like an hour, then she lost interest in it. I let her sniff some every day but she doesn't wan't to play with it anymore. she completely ignores the smell and the herb. Why is this happening? Also how can I make her gain interest in catnip again.

she might just be bored, if you let her have it every day it's no big deal.just like cat food, it's not a treat anymore!
take it away for awhile, I only let my cats have it on special occasions, that way it is special!! if this does not work..sorry some cats just don't like catnip.

Usually male cats respond to catnip more than females. That is because catnip is a natural substance that is similar to female cat hormones when they are in heat. Some females do not respond to catnip.

Try making it a rare and amusing treat. My cats don't care for it much. It became less interesting as they got older. Once in a while, say every month or two, I'll tie some in a sock for them to play with. Of my 4 cats, 2 of my cats like it occasionally and 2 do not at all. I think their 'adultness' is why they've lost interest.

Eating cream puffs every day would probably have me acting like that too--loving it the first day, sort of likeing it the second, not all that interested on the third day. But take it away for a week and hey! It's "GOOD" again!

She overdosed on it for a bit, but offering it once a week will get all the spark back.

Its like a drug to them, gives them a high..

If you allow them to have too much or for too long they will get "immuned" to it and you wil have to wait a good long while before it will effect them again (allow 4- 6 weeks at minimum before trying again).

You shouldnt give any more to her for a while, then only give it too her in small amounts, and she should regain interest.

maybe it got stale.

i keep my nip in the fridge , and put the cat toys in it.
then when a toy gets stale, i put it back in the baggie and get a fresh one out .

maybe, try a different brand?
