I've noticed of late that the ice cream in my freezer is soft, but everything else is frozen. This has happened with the ice cream in different spots in the freezer too.

I put a thermometer in the freezer and checked it a few times - about 19F each time.

When I put the ice cream in the other freezer I have - attached to the fridge - it freezes normally.

Thoughts?

Your freezer in the fridge is set too high. It's low enough to freeze veggies or ice, but not ice cream. Just lower it 10-15ºF.

Turn the freezer temperature down. The optimal freezer temperature should be between +2°F and 0°F.

Ice cream has a far lower freezing point than water. Water•Freezing temperature - 0 oC Ice cream will not freeze 100% ans should be stored at -18C to -23C

Somebody is getting into your ice cream when you aren't looking or you are buying different ice cream.
