say if i am on the second floor of an apartment complex and i am blasting my music with my 180watt sub woofer, will the people below me be able to hear it?

Yes. In case you never noticed, you can hear people that are taller than you. I have upstairs neighbors that have bass going very loudly for hours.

More than likely, you could either keep the subwoofer off a bare floor, with a piece of carpet or some other sound absorption material.

Yes, they'll be able to hear it just as well as they can hear your footsteps, the sound of you going to the bathroom and flushing, you singing in the shower, etc. etc. (I used to have a first floor apartment and had to suffer through all of this.)

Do you have a concrete floor or one made from timber. The concrete floor will not transmit sound as much as a wooden floor.
