The only concept I can think of are the supposed dates of major prophetic fulfillments. When their prophecies didn't come true, they retracted them. Later, they published a book titled "Vindication!" that explained why they were initially right all three times, but didn't realize it at the time (huh?):

"There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1914, 1918 and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time. Later, the faithful learned that these dates were definately fixed in the Scriptures; and they also learned to quit fixing dates for the future and predict what would come to pass on a certain date, but to rely (and they do rely) upon the Word of God as to the events that must come to pass."

So here we have proof that these dates have never been permanently retracted. You can see an actual copy of "Vindication!" here: http://blueletterbible.org/study/cults/exposejw/expose23.pdf

This promise to cease "fixing dates" was forgotten in 1942 when the WBTS issued another false prophecy that Armageddon was "months" away: http://blueletterbible.org/study/cults/exposejw/expose24.pdf

As the passage they use to justify "new light" says: "But the path of the just is like the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day"> (Prov. 4:18) Does this very passage not show that new light should make the way more brighter each step of the way. Rather than changing what has come before it, a light that gets brighter simply brings things into to focus more clearly.

I personally remember being a teen JW in the mid 80's when they reversed their stance on organ transplants. Previously, it was viewed as "cannibalism", but now is allowed. Vaccines were also not allowed many years ago, but now are. I shutter to think of all of the people who lost their lives because they wanted to adhere to these rules of the WT, only to have these rules completely reversed. Too late for them, of course.

The watchtower is run by it's legal dept NOT holy spirit and they respond in knee jerk reactionary fashion to incoming lawsuits.

If a dogma can get them sued they will flip it.

A JW poster above suggested that Watchtower falsehoods are 'even' with other religions.This is shocking truth that we all were taught lies growing up JW and could have had more fun as a Unitarian and will get the same ending.

What an oppressive creed of greed that the man made watchtower has imposed.

Dear Lysdexic Princess,

Because they do modify, amend and modify again I seldom use Scripture with them any more.

I do make exception with Deuteronomy 18:20-22 which speaks in crystal clarity about how to identify FALSE prophets. Even with that they refuse to listen and play games of semantics saying they never called themselves prophets.

For His glory,
JOYfilled

Misled and without light - for sure.
In Proverbs 4:18 It states there is a light not a new light.
twist, twist, twist ...
And Proverbs 4:19 says; "The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble."
Scribe scribe scribe ...
This is a spiritual verse. The beauty of God's word has not been setup within you. Do not claim what you do not have.

Misusing and misquoting, let me see, who is good at that?

In 1890, if you went in the hospital for an appendix operation, the surgeon would not have washed his hands from the gang-green operation he had just performed. Neither would the instruments be cleaned, much less sterilized.

Are you not glad they don't do it that way any more?

When you reached 16 and got that precious driver's license, did you get all knowledge of the workings and operation of a car? Why should you assume we get total knowledge of the Bible which is much more complicated than a car?

The words of the Bible were always there as they are. As we learn more, we progress in understanding. Only the mentally infirm fail to do this. By the way, what in your religious understanding has changed since you were young?

Yeah, and my brother-in-law said they are now thinking that there will be another group joining them in the new system! He told my husband that like it was a consolation prize for us not being JW! "Hey, you may not be the great crowd, but we may still have room for you. We'll see what we can do!" Incredible!lol

Well let's see, we believe that Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are 3 separate entities;

The soul is the life that we are living, and @ death we all sleep unconsciously in the grave as opposed to being tortured in Hell or living in heaven;

Salvation is only possible based on faith in Jesus sacrifice;

Righteous humankind will live forever on a paradise earth after Jehovah has destroyed the wicked in the war of Armageddon...

And compare our "false prophecies" with everyone else's false teachings - does that not make us even if nothing else???
