How many of you would still come here and ask/answer questions if there was no point system? If this wasn't a game, how many of you would have stayed?

for the record- I would.

of course, the points are pointless (pardon the unintended and slightly embarrasing pun). apart from level 1 when you can't do much it makes no difference how many points i have.

I think I would... but I really appreciate knowing what people think of my responses. It's a system of "checks and balances" that helps me know whether I'm being useful or not. I appreciate that. I'm not sure if I would still feel encouraged enough to keep trying if I didn't get any feedback. That said, the feedback wouldn't have to be in the form of "points".

I think digilook makes a good point by his example... He seems to only earn points so that he can ask all those inspiring questions.

¬honestly the point system is what brought me here in the first place; but having been involved for so long I have found coming here and answering questions to be very enlightening. I have learned so much from all of you and found a deeper understanding of who I am. Thank you.

I would stay.

I would because it's fun. I don't really care about the point system which is stupid in my opinion because someone always picks a best answer because the answerer agrees with them the most. Never mind if you took the time to write a thoughtful answer yourself.

This kind of forum has been great for me to learn to articulate what I really believe. To be able to succinctly state the reason for my answers, has been very good for me.

I would stay without points, but I've always loved to challenge myself to reach goals. The point system is an added bonus.

I would....the point system really doesn't mean much anyway.
It's kind of like the points system on "who's line is it anyway" with Drew Carey... : )

I just like to hear people's point of view and try to be helpful if possible every once in a while.

Have a great weekend!

I don't get many points for answering here anyhow. Most of my points come from actually helpful answers in other categories, rather than the dumbass, sarcastic answers I post in R&S.

So yes, I would still answer here if there was no point system.

I would definitely be here. I enjoy the discussions and possibility of intelligent ideas far more than some petty point system.

I would have... and actually DO. I never really pay attention to the points these days. I try to seek to help someone with a real question. THAT's where I find the best reward.

Peace.

I get nothing for the points. I mean, wouldn't it be great if we got some money for them? But as that's not the case, so ... of course I would be here without points.
